It’s a liquid not a PASTE.
I gave it 5 stars b’cuz overall it is a great product with tons of tiny seeds that smells and tastes as expected, however it is NOT a paste! The packaging needs to be re-considered if the product remains aqueous and not a paste. Until then, keep it upright and there’s no problem, tip it over and you’re bound for a mess. I bought a 4 oz bottle with a dropper cap to transfer this product into so I could then add it easier to our morning smoothies. I am not sure if refrigerating it would solidify it any, but using it as it is works fine. The only CON is that it just needs new packaging and the word PASTE removed from their labeling, if it in fact remains in a liquid form. I recommend this product just be prepared for it not being a paste. Also, I lucked out and no mess was created in opening the jar.

Wonderful in recipes!
This is wonderful. A cousin had recommended it to me to try in recipes. It is just a wee bit more intense than regular vanilla extract. I love it and would purchase again!

more potent and pleasant than expected
I have never used anything but vanilla extract before- but was inspired to buy this based on a cookbook I recently have been working my way through. I have to say, the scent and color and general richness has been a pleasant shift in some of our recipes and I am pleased to have tried it. I am not sure I will use it for everything or every recipe- but it certainly is different enough and rich enough to be worth the try!

Worth it
If you are just making cookies to leave in the break room at work, use the cheap fake vanilla. If you are making creme brulee for a party, (or another dessert for a special occasion) use this. Vanilla bean paste is expensive, but for serious bakers, it's well worth it. Completely different than the artificial stuff.

The beans from Native Vanilla are still better but this stuff is pretty awesome too...
You just can't beat the price for the quality, authenticity, and ease of use.I mean my experience with Native Vanilla beans has been so on point and epic that like- it makes me just warm inside to use this stuff on everything I can.. it's like an entire experience to pull my spoon out after I dip it in the jar and swirl it around (always for way too long) and then to just watch the caramel color appear in the dripping stretches between the black beans as I rock my hand left and right to keep as much as on the spoon as I can- oh man, it just makes me want to talk dirty or something.. it gets me that excited.(my only complaint might be that you can tell the whole bean is ground in, so you have pretty big pieces that are just inedible and unslightly if you don't take some time to strain it IF you decided to mix the entire jar a thousand times, bringing up all the bits that once settled on the bottom just so you could spend an equally ungoldly amount of time with your nose glued to the side of the jar hoping to breathe in as much of the place as its from and all the people that touched it and all the joy that went into making it)And yes, I took a gamble because I saw how many people complained about broken jars and I live all the way on the West Coast too- but alas, there was only some minimal drippage on the side. And no, it doesn't have a traditional seal (I mean I think the stuff literally comes straight out of the locale my friend) but more of a tear strip that breaks the first time you open the jar. So like I said- authentic ooey gooey vanilla-lover yumminess that can remind you of just how great it is to be alive.
