Great desktop magnifier
Overall a very nice magnifier which is perfect for my needs.I wanted something for soldering and fault finding on small printed circuit boards and Surface Mount devices. The light is more than bright enough for my purpose, is dimmable and illuminates evenly all round the glass. It does offer different colours but this is really not necessary for my needs, the white is clear, crisp and evenly distributed. The magnifier glass was slightly smaller than I was expecting (check the details) as some of the photos are perhaps a little misleading, however it is actually just perfect for my needs. The heavy base works fine and allows easy movement around the workspace but extending the magnifier too far from the base or moving it quickly can unbalance it.The desk clamp restricts the location but makes it much more robust for moving out of the way quickly when needed. The level of magnification is great for SMD devices and examining fine PCB tracks.

Lamp for Detailed Beadwork – Bright Light & Great Magnification
The media could not be loaded. This magnifying lamp is compact and provides excellent lighting. I do a lot of beadwork, so having bright, clear light is essential for seeing the tiny beads. The magnification is also really helpful for working on detailed designs with the smallest beads.

Nice build, good magnification.
Bought this to solder surface mount components to PCB boards. Not disappointed, magnification is good, light is good, build is substantial.

Usb socket required
Needs a usb socket next to where you are using it. Other than that it is a excellent tool.

reach and balance is poor
reach and balance is poor, light is good and magnifying is adequate for modeling but wouldn't be buying again.

See better!
The media could not be loaded. This desktop magnifier is a must for anyone doing close-up work or electronics. It comes with a choice of mount: there’s a heavy base plate which doubles as a stand or you can use the desk clamp to fix it directly to your work surface. It is an Anglepoise-style balanced-arm design, with sprung supports and can be fixed into the desired position using the butterfly screw knobs at the joints. The magnifier is about 15X to make working with tiny objects easier. The USB-powered lighting consists of two rings of LEDs, warm white in the inner ring and cool white in the outer, giving three possible settings, plus the whole light is dimmable, giving much more versatility to the unit. The control unit is on the lamp’s cable, rather than built into the unit as shown in some of the promotional materials, it that does not affect the overall performance of the lamp.I do a little bit of tinkering with electronics now and again, so this will be an invaluable addition to my workspace.

15X Magnifying Glass with Light
The media could not be loaded. This is a great aid for hobbies that have detailed work involved.I have used it for model painting and found it very useful, and I have also used it for electric circuit board repairs.I like that it has an option for a desk clamp mount, or you can use the good, weighted base.Having the adjustable lighting option is a very handy addition, but you do need your own USB-A power source.I can recommend it.

Not sure about the 15x magnification but great for soldering
I do quite a bit of soldering, some of which is tiny SMD components that are difficult to see with no assistance.Problem with a lot of magnifying lenses however is that they have a pretty short focal point, which means I do not have any space to put my hands in between the glass and my circuit board. This magnifying glass however is superior in that sense as it seems to have a rather far focal point, giving me plenty of room to work with. I'm not sure about the advertised 15x zoom but it definitely does magnify what I see, close enough to the point where I can clearly see the small SMD components and solder much more effectively. The magnifying glass comes with some extra features too.Firstly it has a light around the glass, which makes it so much easier to see things you are working on.The light has brightness and colour temperature adjustment and can be powered by any USB brick or even a power bank! The magnifying glass can be fastened either to the included heavy base (which holds the glass quite well even when pushed quite far out) or you can use the included table clamp for better support. At the time of writing, this setup costs £43, which is quite the steep price for what this is and you may want to consider alternatives if you are on a tight budget.Having said that, I think beyond the price aspect this is a very good product that is fit for soldering all but the smallest SMD components.
