Don't Skip the Cheese!
I don’t usually expect much from meal kits, but this one was pretty decent. Similar to baking a cake mix, you’ll need to grab a few extra ingredients, in this case ricotta and blue cheese (I prefer Gorgonzola). (* See the photo of the back of the box for further details). The kit includes freselle, taralli, and both artichoke and red pepper dips. If you’re curious about prep, check out the video above from the manufacturer. It’s a good portion size for 2-4 people, especially if you pair it with another antipasti and a bottle of wine. While it won’t live up to my great-aunt Rosie’s cooking from Sicily, it’s a convenient, quick option when you’re having a quiet evening in or a few friends over for an impromptu get together. And seriously, PLEASE DON’T SKIP THE CHEESE!

Easy dip, great starter sample
Sometimes I get tired of trying to look up want to make and want to try something new. These kits are great options. With this dip kit, it had stuff that sounds good but I don't want to spend the full effort trying to make it from scratch and ultimately be disappointed. This one is a recipe to stay. I typically love artichoke type dips but never had the pepper before. With this I liked both dips! I did do the extra ricotta as recommended (but not bleu cheese as that's not a thing I like). I only wish there was more.

Red pepper dip has overpowering sourness
We had mixed reviews. The Artichoke dip had some acidity, but the artichokes were ground fairly well, and I thought that it was ok. The red pepper dip, however, had a mixture of flavors: subtle sweetness, overpowering sourness, and some bitterness. None of us liked it. I did not have blue cheese nor ricotta cheese, but I had sour cream, so I made a sour cream, onion, and garlic sauce and put it on the red pepper dip to mellow out the sourness and bitterness. The breads were nice and crunchy. However, if you like sour food, you may like it. It has a good amount of artichoke dip and red pepper dip in the packages.

Fun snack
This is a great snack to have with company as it's something different from the typical. We all really enjoyed the crackers and the spreads. You can eat as is or add cheeses per the box. I love that it's made in Italy

Aperitivo Kit Freiselle & Taralli
This was an interesting kit to put together, it requires quite a few additional ingredients which I found a bit annoying for what seems like an all in one kit. These ingredients are blue and ricotta cheese so not something I usually just have on hand either.Taste wise its ok, good and edible but not amazing. Overall I like the concept of these kits and appreciate the uniqueness and being able to try something with my family that we haven't tried before.

Yum!
I've never tried frieselle or taralli before, but I love bread/crackers and dip, so I was excited to! And I'm a fan!The kit itself is so cute and highly giftable. I love the little rope handle. And the contents are really delicious and fresh tasting. The bread is really crunchy, like an upscale crouton, and the little rounds are light and crisp (and they taste SO good). They're also a really good match with the pepper and artichoke dips. And the dips are really tasty too. The pepper one is thick and creamy with a distinct pepper flavor. And the artichoke is more subtle with a chunky, oily texture. There are also instructions for how to make them even fancier by adding ricotta and blue cheese. Even without that, though, I love them and think they're perfect for snacking or small get togethers.Highly recommend!

Cute kit
This kit is perfect to give as a gift or to make for company. The breads were good and the spreads/ dips offered some variety to make it as you like it. Just make sure to mix the spreads in the packet before serving as the artichoke spread separated a bit (but came back together quickly with a stir). Nice out, wish more spread was provided for the allotted amount of breads.

An easy way to round out a charcuterie board
The Aperitivo Kit Freiselle & Taralli with Artichoke and Pepper Dips came complete and was ready to use as is, which surprised me. I thought I'd have to prepare something, but that wasn't the case. There are recommendations on the backside to use the dips in various other ways, but if you want just the basics, you can open the pouches into bowls and add the two different kind of crackers and you're good to go. This would round out a wine and cheese tray or charcuterie board nicely. Flavor wise, the roasted red pepper dip is my favorite, while the smaller round crackers that resembled tortellini were delicious; the other larger bread pieces were rather flavorless, very dry, and a bit stale. To be honest, there was nothing here that I couldn't have acquired - for cheaper, no less - from my local Aldi grocery store. It was fun to try this kit on a lark, but it's probably not something I would purchase again.
