Chocolate malt flavor
I like muscle milk. Normally, I buy the chocolate variety from a local brick and mortar, but the pricing is about 100 percent better online, so I decided to order online. The package took a bit to get to me, which while not a big deal since it was free, still is something to consider. If you need it right away, you have to either A) pay quite a bit for shipping, making it the same price to go to the store, or B) be willing to wait. This isn't a con, just how it is.Taste wise, which is the really important thing: the taste of the chocolate malt I received is just okay. It's not intolerable, but it isn't great. I definitely like the base chocolate flavor better. I may experiment a bit and try a couple other flavors, but for what it's worth I would not necessarily recommend this flavor, especially if you're just trying out the protein. I'd say go for chocolate, not chocolate malt.As for why I use it: I use it as a meal replacement. Muscle Milk works great for this with quite a few vitamins and minerals, decent amount of fat, and decent amount of carbs. The nutritional value is greatly enhanced by milk (more fat, though more saturated fat than one might want \ protein), olive oil (or any oil of your choosing for those sweet omega 3s), and some fibrous frozen veggies and maybe some fruit (you can definitely add some carbs here unless you're trying to go super low carb; I don't recommend switching straight to low carb though, and instead recommend trying to shift your carbs from simple sugars to complex sugars and carbs). In some, 5/10 for taste on this particular flavor. Probably a 7/10 overall for Muscle Milk.

Good product, bad flavor (Malted Chocoloate)
I actually give this Protein product 5 stars for it's ingredients and results. What I am commenting on is the taste, and thus dinging it 2 stars. I ordered the Chocolate Malt flavor and I find it to be rather blah... So far plain chocolate is the best flavor. This Malt flavor lacks a chocolate taste, has a little after taste, and no malt flavor either. You actually have to mix this quite thick (eg, less water) to get some semblance of flavor.Again, I like the product, just not this flavor.ADDITIONAL PURCHASES/FLAVORSHere's my list so far... Let's just say so far plain old chocolate is the best! This is my go to flavor I buy in 5 lbs jug. If in doubt buy plain chocolate. Now for the dishonorable mentions.Malt Chocolate - NO Chocolate taste, no malt flavor... Will not buy againMint Chocolate - Has mint after taste, but taste of artificial sugar is strong. Bad aftertaste... Will not buy againGerman Chocolate cake - UGH! Tastes like plastic and saccharine! Wicked bad taste... will not buy again

Great protein, Lactose Free
I bought this protein specifically for my father, who is lactose-intolerant. He would frequently experience discomfort when using other whey powders. So far, after a year of using this, he's never had a single problem, which is great. I've tried this as well, and he and I agree that this is one of the best options out there for flavor and mixability. The cost per serving is better than many similar wheys like Syntha-6, and pretty much all isolates. The one reason this does not get a perfect 5 stars is because of the macro-nutrient profile. I find this to be pretty carb heavy, which is not necessarily the best for those who are doing paleo or similar diets. Also, there is a lot of sugar, so watch your insulin. I do like this occasionally as a treat, but I will be sticking with my Optimum Gold Standard for my protein of choice.

They call THIS chocolate malt?
I tried this because I love malt, buying real malt powder is expensive, and I thought getting chocolate malt protein powder (as opposed to chocolate protein powder, plus malt added) might save me money. This does NOT taste like chocolate malt. It tastes like stale chocolate (you know, when you leave a chocolate bar for a year too long and it gets white and powdery and crumbly with age?). It barely tastes like chocolate, and it does not taste like malt at all.I was iffy to begin with because it looks like it might contain creatine, which I don't want to eat. But I wasn't sure it did, and the only other protein powder I can find that is chocolate malt is $54, which I couldn't afford to pay right away.I'm very disappointed. Guess it's the Optimum Nutrition one for me.

Tasty
The Chocolate Malt flavor may be my new favorite. It's tasty: chocolate but too chocolate, rich but not too rich, and without the artificial character some of the other Muscle Milk powders have. Compared to the other flavors I've tried (strawberry, cookies and creme) it seems a little slower to dissolve, especially when I use half milk, half water. Increasing the water and decreasing the milk seems to help this, though. Definitely recommended.

Getting used to
The only real review I can give is flavor as I have no idea if it actually does anything. I just bought it for recovery after running. So I don't take it daily or for mass. It does taste a little chalky and the flavored not great. I think I'll buy chocolate next. I also tried strawberry cream and that doesn't suit my fancy either.

One of my favorite flavors. Have it for breakfast.
I don't like to eat breakfast so instead I have a glass of Muscle Milk, which is also lactose free. It calls for 2 scoops in an 8oz glass of water. I only put in one scoop, stir really well, add a few ice cubes (tastes great ice cold)and sip through a straw. Chocolate Malt is one of my favorite flavors, as well as, Mocha Latte and Mint Chocolate Chip. After about 2 hours, I have a second glass of MM using only 1 scoop again. Then eat a light lunch around 11am and whatever I want for dinner in the evening. One container lasts me about 1 month.

... bodybuilding purposes you must know that the macros are terrible for that
This is fairly delicious stuff but if you are buying it for bodybuilding purposes you must know that the macros are terrible for that. I would use it as a dessert/snack to replace normal desserts/snacks. I.e. instead of ice cream, drink this. You should be as satisfied or close to as satisfied.
