Pristine light and sound from a device that will be configured then ignored for years?
So far, I absolutely love this thing. The interesting about it is, the better it performs, the less I ever know or think about it. In other words, if this thing does its job perfectly, I won't really ever pay much attention to it.I love the adjustable dimmer (which includes 8 dim levels, including a fully off level). Mine came with rack-mounting hardware (ears) included. I also used the coaxial in/out and splitter to protect and split the signal from my new attic-mounted compact RCA ANT751 antenna (also purchased from Amazon this year - and it's optimized for digital television - it's fantastic!) to the TV and also to the receiver for AM/FM reception.I use this power conditioner to protect all the components of my home theater, including a 60" plasma, an Onkyo 7.1 network ready audio video receiver (115 Watts per channel @ 8ohms), a 100 watt 10" powered subwoofer, a Blu-ray disc player and a Wii. When I'm pushing everything hard in my setup, I don't ever seem to go over 3.6 amps, as indicated by the LCD on this unit. (When I was estimating my total power consumption and was adding up the rated specs on each component, I came up with a number closer to 1000 watts. I guess the way the manufacturers publish those numbers they take into account the "surge" or impulse wattage, not the continuous wattage.Reading up on the rated power and volt amps vs watts didn't really clear things up for me either, and I've been doing electronics in some form or other, sometimes professionally since I was a kid. APC rates this thing as "1440VA / 1440 watts (continuous)". If I remember my basic electronics formula, my 3.6 amps (from the display) x 120 volts = 432 watts. With my 432 watts draw, I'm obviously well within the capacity of this unit. I have been very surprised at the very light draw of my 60" TV, 115 watt AVR and the 100 watt subwoofer. The TV and receiver are both new 2014 models and I guess they are designed to use less power than ever. It's incredibly efficient in my opinion, and I'm kind of amazed. (It's been quite awhile since buying and evaluating home theater gear for me, and I'm amazed at what $2000 will get you and how well it all does with power.)This unit has 12 outlets and also protects standard RJ11 phone jacks too. If I could have any single modification to this unit I wished, I'd exchange the RJ11 jacks for Cat5/6 so as to protect the data lines in the house too. But these days, more and more connections are made with wireless, and that is the case for my system. I stream Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Vudu to my Blu-ray player via wireless, so there's no data-related copper connections to protect. My H15 came with a very long - maybe 9' - very heavy duty power cord. It seems heavy enough to draw 15 amps continuously through it with no heat issues. Since I'm drawing about a third of a hair dryer, I used a shorter and slightly less beefy cord in my setup. I'll deploy that thicky somewhere else where the guage is more suited to the load.As I started this review mentioning - as long as this power conditioner does its job, I'll really never notice it being there. I have everything plugged into this unit related to my audio / video, and I have absolutely no issues audio or video whatsoever. No hum, no buzz, no pops, clicks, or anything bad. Nothing. Pure and clean light and sound. It's pristine. It doesn't hurt that my gear is very new and medium-high level Samsung and Onkyo, I understand, but in my case the APC H15 is a 10% investment against damage and interference / noise and so far is money very well spent. One of the interesting things will be to see how this unit deals with electrical conditions and possible surges / incidents over time. It's one thing to work, out-of-the-box, with few problems and new gear. It's another to still be pristine and doing its job in five years. I will check back in here and provide updates if anything changes.

excellent product
Got this item from Ritz Camera through Amazon. Item shipped quickly and came well-packed. If you buy from Ritz though, call them up first to make sure they have the item in stock. The unit itself is extremely well built, very solid. Lots of power conditioners out there to choose from (many more expensive than this one) but the feature that sets this apart from the others is the automatic voltage regulation (AVR) that keeps a constant 120 volts to your gear even if the output from the outlet itself exceeds or drops below 120. If you are like me and have a several items all plugged into the same 1-2 outlets via a surge protector, then the AVR feature is something to really value. I have a total of 20 pieces of equipment that require power in my home theater system and with them all going, the power going to each device tends to drop below 120, which really isn't very ideal for the equipment. The drop in voltage is even more pronounced when all the gear is going and the air conditioning kicks in. With the H15, in this scenario, you see the AVR feature kick in to boost the voltage to 120 in this scenario, making sure your gear doesn't suffer from being underpowered. The H15 will also trim the voltage if the plug's output exceeds 120 volts but I haven't run into the scenario yet. I haven't noticed any real improvement in picture quality from the power conditioning but its nice to know its there and protecting my gear. Overall, a very solid product at a very reasonable price. You just normally don't get automatic voltage regulation and APC quality at this price point so its nice to see APC step up and offer a quality, reasonably priced product with high-end features. Don't hesitate to get this item if you want piece-of-mind that your gear is protected and getting the clean power that it prefers so that it operates in the most optimal way.
