L'Oreal Paris Violet Saturn Color Riche Lipstick Number 214

Great Lipstick! Bought it for years at Boots. They discontinued it in January. Thank God for Amazon! Bought four sticks. Silky and perfect from L’Oreal!

This colour is very odd. In the tube it looks like it is going to be some gorgeous deep toned matte browny-mauve. Or a Marlena Dietrich pouty rich purple concoction. Something marvelous that you can pop on your too “washed-out-after-Christmas-it’s-January-and-it’s-cold outside” face. Instead, this is a rather washed out lavender with lots of shiny bright in it. If there is a light nude lavender lipstick with highlighting powder in it, this is its twin. Very, very translucent to the point of disappearing (despite the colour in my photo). Nothing dramatic (as its name sounds) at all. This did nothing for me personally. It might work for other skin tones as lipstick matching is tricky and subjective. (Some reviewers swear by it). It looked like coloured glittery lip balm upon application. Think Twiggy circa 1967. Remember Yardley lip glosses? This is their lost and very virtuous granddaughter. I am going to relegate this to the back of the makeup drawer. (But if you like the retro ‘60’s look, or a nude lavender it may work for you). I still think its name is quite fab.

I wear very little makeup just mascara and lipstick this one not my normal brand but good quality and would purchase again. Wears well.
