I've worked on 12v systems since I was a kid. With that said, I grew up using traditional butt connectors, and put silicon on the ends to seal them up.These bad boys, are fantastic!! They have solder, and silicon sealant inside the shrink tube !! These are definitely the best I have ever used. Now, I will definitely recommend using a heat gun over a lighter.....hands down. The heat gun is just superior to a lighter. I say that because a lighter tends to over burn the shrink tubing as the solder begins to melt. With a gun, you can wave it around to distribute heat better. These seal very well, and I use them everywhere including on boat trailer connections. No fails yet, fingers crossed! I would highly recommend these to anyone whose worried about moisture.

Too good to be true ??? No, they really work as advertised. This kit is only for inline ."butt" connections. Need a kit for other connectors. Only complaint is it is hard to tell when the solder ring has properly melted.
