They use Sockeye Salmon in their Alaska Smoked Salmon. For their Salmon Bites, they use Coho. Does Dear North use dyes or coloring agents to color their fish? Never. They do not use any dyes, colorings, or chemicals to enhance the color or flavor of their fish. The color of Alaska Salmon comes from nature and ranges from light orange to orange-red to deep red. Alaska seafood has never been tainted by the Fukushima nuclear disaster four years ago.
