Playmobil Green Recycling Truck

I bought this for my son when he was 18 months old (I know it says for ages 3 and up but please read on as this toy can absolutly be for any age). He is two and a half now and still plays with this truck at least every other day. It comes with some pretty small parts but I put all of the small parts in a plastic baggie and put them in the basement for future use. I kept out the main trash truck, the trash can and the trash can lid. This thing is amazing! It is very detailed, he has gained some fine motor skills by "dumping" the trash can into the truck.As for the durability, perfect for toddlers. It has "broke" at least 20 times, but when it is dropped or mishandled, I am certain it was engineered so that the pieces that "break" off from every angle it could poasibly break so that they snap right back into place worth no less ware and tear than when I first bought it.I looked at so many trash trucks and am very happy this was the one I chose. And playmobil has thousands of other toys that I can now just add on to when his interest changes (already bought the school bus too). And have made it a tradition to add to their collection every christmas. His little sister now gets her own collection but they can play together since they all snap into each other and work with all other playmobil toys. You will not be disappointed in this toy.

Ok, I struggled with a rating for this. There are aspects of this truck that are great. It has many small details (recyclables, recycle bin) that are fun. Also, many parts of this truck come apart, which again, can be fun to have a truck that can be disassembled. My son is almost 3 and loved, loved, loved this truck. But, the fact that sooo many parts of the truck came off has been too much for me. So what parts of the truck can pop off? Here's what we often deal with coming off: the exhaust tubes, the truck cab, the back door of the truck, the part that the recycle bin fits on.In some ways, I can see that some parents and kids may find this assembling and disassembling cool. The pieces can pretty much snap on and off. However, if I knew the parts came off that easily, I probably would have opted for something else. While my son can take the parts off, he often needs me to put them back on. He also often will misplace parts and get upset. These are all things that my kiddo can learn from. And, not a huge deal. It just can be a little much at time to have so much of the truck come apart. It's a lot of pieces to keep track of. I'd prefer something that doesn't have so many parts that can come off.

I got this for my almost 4 year old for Easter. He absolutely loved it, and played with it all day. Still likes it and plays with it. My only 'con' about it is that some of the small plastic parts kept breaking off. The two gray exhaust pipes and the green parts that attach the bar that lifts the trash into the truck. They snapped back on easily enough, but I wound up super gluing the green part and want to do that also for the exhaust pipes. Seems like it wouldn't hurt any of the gameplay to do this. He wasn't rough with it.It kept my son's attention for a long time. He loved putting the garbage can on the back and lifting the pieces into the truck. Yes, they are small but if you are giving to a small child, you could always put those pieces away until they are older. The front cab part has a removable top to allow you to put the people in the truck. Everything is well detailed and looks great. Overall happy with purchase.

This toy was a huge hit with my 3yo--and his older siblings loved it, too. Two years later, he still enjoys playing with it. The success is in the details--from the flapping lid of the garbage can to the tiny bits of included "trash" to the rubber wheels, the little guy feels like he is practicing on the real deal.Some people complain about the fact that the pieces pop off, but from my perspective, that's what keeps these toys from breaking. I'd rather have a piece I can pop back into place when someone drops or falls on a toy (both have happened to this vehicle) instead of something that requires super glue to (possibly) fix. None of our Playmobil toys have broken, and I can't say that for any of our other toys, even if they're supposedly high-quality (and no matter whether they're wood, metal, or plastic).

My 2 year old is obsessed with all things trash truck. We have about 6 toy garbage trucks, most of which have electronic parts and sirens. I like that this one has none of that. He has to completely use his imagination to work with it, which isn't hard to do considering it includes a garbage can, pieces of garbage, and two garbage men. I also like that it easily comes apart. My son can't destroy it like other toys, because the pieces are made to easily come apart and put back together. The cab comes off, the little silver exhaust (?) pipes behind the cab come off. My son likes to take these off and include them in the trash.Very cute toy. My favorite of all my son's toy garbage trucks, probably my son's 2nd or 3rd favorite out of 6 (only because the largest trucks hold bigger pieces of trash!)

I purchased this for Christmas for my 2 year old son who is obsessed with garbage trucks. He absolutely loves it. It is very sturdy and has held up well to the abusive nature of little boys. :) The garbage can works very well, and the back of the truck holds a lot (not just what came with it). The only downside is that the fake garbage that comes with it is about 20 very small pieces, so they are now scattered around the house (and a bit of a swallowing hazard for smaller children), but they make it very satisfactory to dump the garbage into the back, so of course my son loves it. I would highly recommend - Playmobil is an excellent compay.

Christmas gift for my son who loves garbage trucks. He loved it! Its really cool that you can hook up the recycle bin on the back and lift it up to dump out all the little trash pieces into the back of the truck. We did have issues the smoke stacks falling off very easily and then it got to the point where they wouldn't even click into place anymore. It doesn't affect the truck at all, but just kind of annoying that they would come off so easily.

Not much fun with this truck. Parts don't work very well together. It doesn't do anything interesting, at all. Back lifts up... comes with a bunch of tiny grey pieces that are probably supposed to be garbage. My son was immediately bored with this - played with it maybe 5 minutes before tossing it aside. I wish I had spent more money and bought one with more to it.

Lovely set however, there are some very small bits that can be easily lost (tin cans etc). Having said that the children in my reception class love it and it is a good way of introducing the theme of "people of help us" or the "recycling" message.

My son loves it, be careful lot of small pieces, some of the components of the truck might by pulled off by kids, I superglued some.

Ordered this for my 4 year old grandson his words " thank you nanny i love my truck". Item arrived within 24 hours of the order being placed, my daughter said it was easy to put together and was well made, would def recommend this item. I chose playmobil as my daughter used to play with it when she was younger and I have always liked the range. Good for those with imagination and role play. Love the accessories although have to watch them with young children.

MY SON LIKED IT BUT WISHED IT MADE SOUNDS OR SOMETHING
