Good tool - but don’t forget silicone plumbers grease
This tool works well IF you put plumbers silicone grease on the pipe before using the tool. Did not do that the first time and could not get the compression sleeve off. Did it the second time, and the tool worked like a charm

Worth Every Penny
In my previous house I replaced the valves before hard water corrosion set in and, in most cases, didn't replace the compression sleeves. In a few cases I cut the sleeve off VERY carefully (with limited success). In my current house the builder didn't leave enough room to pull the nut back to examine/clean the sleeve. It probably wouldn't matter since the water here has been hard and total replacement makes sense. I've used this for 4 valves so far and it's been perfect each time. Sometimes it takes some muscle to turn the socket wrench so I'm glad I went with a robust version of this type of tool. I also make sure I keep one hand on the tool to keep it from turning to avoid any chance of what a few people have complained about (twisting the pipe). I save enough money doing things myself I don't mind spending a little extra for robust tools, especially if I expect multiple uses. If I was only buying a tool like this for a one time use I might think differently.

Quick strong removal of compression rings
I have had to remove angle stops that were over tightened so much that the copper is no longer 1/2 inch and a weak removal tool cant effectively remove them. This tool rips them off of pipe like its mad at copper. The ability to use a socket is heaven. Trying to turn a metal bar makes you bend the copper tube while you apply pressure unevenly. Its higher priced than most tools but worth every dime. I'm a plumber 30 years in and other tools dont come close.

Heavy Duty: Gets the Job Done
YouTube videos I first watched said the compression ring would come off so easy & of course they demonstrate on a new pipe that hasn’t been fitted before. So we realized we needed a special tool to remove the ring and the other ones on the market look flimsy with some reviewers reporting they only work one time. This one is very heavy duty and I imagine will be long lasting. It worked really well and made a previously tough job much more manageable. Very satisfied!
