Just the thing for someone with klutzy fingers!
This little thing makes a shorter roll than is made using the standard bamboo mat, but, so what? Just make two, or more!I still don't make the prettiest rolls - generally they are too fat, but they are far prettier than the rolls I make with a mat. And everything is cleaner and neater: my hands, my counter top, my floor, my clothing, my floor, my back yard (LOL!). A great little tool for the occasional sushi maker.

Absolute garbage..
The idea of this is great, but the build quality of it looks as if a kindergartener put it together. I wish I was kidding, but I'm dead serious. It's like they glued a strip of paper to some flimsy molded plastic and thought it would pass muster. The box read "As Seen On TV" and I don't believe I even saw "Leifheit" anywhere on the product. Even more hilarious were the instructions which were written in *thee* worst English I have ever bore witness to. It was literally randomly strung-together misspelled words lacking any meaning whatsoever! It did give me a good laugh before I promptly returned it though.

bigger would've been better
It was easy to use had problems with the nori overlapping and too small would have gave 5 star if it was bigger

The Good and The Bad
Unlike other reviewers, I prefer the smaller roll size - I can only eat so much sushi in one sitting and this allows me to make several different types of roll. Each finished roll can be three thin pieces or two thick pieces. Even when using a clean, sharp, knife and water I find it almost impossible to cut three without destroying at least one piece. You will definitely want water for wiping the blade and wetting fingers before handling rice, and consider applying mise en place. I rarely do so, but find it worthwhile with this gadget. In addition to the included instructions, ensure you can see no filling through the rice or the rolls will not stay together properly. I find I often need to manually tuck one end of the nori around the other and must ensure precisely enough filling or risk tearing or wrinkling the wrapper when pulling tight. I find it simple to clean, though if the nori is not properly sized things can get a bit messy. After an hour or two of practice I believe one could make company-worthy rolls. The "failures" are delicious. Srichacha, mayo, and tuna make surprisingly simple and tasty "spicy tuna" type rolls. Wasabi in place of srichacha is also a favourite.

Lots of fun & way cheaper than a trip to the sushi bar.
Used it several times now & makes way better rolls than I can get by hand. Cleans up easy. Now if I could just get consistent on the quality of my rice making I'll be doing great. (Ever had a sushi roll where the rice was too sticky? I am getting better though) Any one recommend a good rice maker? Mine does OK for jasmine rice but butchers sushi rice.

Not wide enough! Very flimsy...
I bought 3 of them, as they were very affordable...okay, cheap. That's what I got. I was going to give them as presents to my sushi-loving friends. If you want to spend all day rolling tiny sushi rolls, then be my guest. Try not to break it.

Great for people that can't roll well with the rice on the outside
Only used it one time, but it works great for people that can't roll well with the bamboo and rice on the outside. Before I was using the seaweed wrap outside to help me out.

Junk
The thing fell apart when I pulled it out of the box. Once I got it back together and attempted to use it, I realized how bad it was. Simply threw it away and rolled the old-fashioned way.
