I guess I got extremely lucky compared to the other 3 reviews. The button on mine causes the dust chambers to light up. Press it once and Red lights up, again and Blue lights up, and so on. I bought this even though everyone said the button was useless and was pleasently surprised when it lit up. For $100 this is a steal anyway. High quality. Definitely recommend this to any fan of RWBY. I am sure the RoosterTeeth gang would be thrilled to have one of these.

Looks really nice. However I am a bit disappointed that there is a button on the dust cartridge (spinner) and it dose not do anything and I have no idea why it's there.

This is currently the best you can get, in terms of getting your own Myrtenaster. Made of solid steel, with good detailing in terms of the designs on the guard and the revolving chamber. There are a few important points and criticisms that should be said, however.First, the bad. The main criticism I have is that it isn't a completely accurate replica. Firstly, this model is missing the hammer and the trigger that are on the hilt and guard in the animation. Secondly, it is missing the dust "exhaust port" on the part of the blade directly adjacent to the guard. Myrtenaster is supposed to be a hybrid of sword and revolver, which this replica is not. It must be noted that this replica still has a spinning revolver dust chamber, despite the lack of trigger, hammer, and exhaust port.Secondly, it has quite a heft. While I personally think the weight is not so immense that it can't be wielded in one hand, if you're expecting a light weapon more akin to historical rapiers, you will be disappointed. The "blade" is actually a tapered and un-sharpened literal block of a rectangle of solid steel, and much heavier than a "real" rapier. While aesthetically it looks great, keep in mind as well that there is no true edge; it's simply a rectangular block of metal that gets thinner and thinner towards the tip. Secondly, the revolving dust chamber seems to be solid metal as well,which adds a considerable amount of weight. There is a small button on the revolving chamber; I hoped that it might be able to light up the dust chambers when pressed, but it seems to be of no use whatsoever.Thirdly, the four "wings" of the guard are a bit shaky in terms of how well they're attached to the hilt. They each come as separate parts, which you have to attach manually. You'll need to pull up this moveable cylinder on top of the hilt to expose the slots that the top part of the four "wings" slide into. However, they're not done to the most exacting measurements, and when I first assembled the guard, it was loose and they would easily fall out. It's a quick and easy fix with some superglue or other adhesive, but to me, this was the most annoying part in the design and construction of this replica.However, despite these criticisms, overall, the replica is outstanding in terms of looks. The detailing on the metal is done well, including the revolving dust chamber. Though not really a blade, it looks quite good; and of course, it still has a (un-sharpened) point to it. The sheath that comes with Myrtenaster does not exist in the show, but nevertheless looks great, and has the Schnee emblem imprinted onto it. If you want a copy of Myrtenaster that feels more like a true sword, this is the best you can get, provided that you're okay with it not being a 100% accurate replica, being a bit on the heavy side, and not having a true edge to it. Regardless, while you may not be executing lightning fast strikes with this, it looks amazing, and personally, being made of steel brings it even closer to authenticity, and beats a wooden replica any day.

I love this! If you get confused the. Blades on the dust (i forgot the word but it’s the thing that spins and contains the dust) and the rapier come separate so make sure to check the box good. No point at the end so no stabbing anybody’s eyes out and most likely ok to take to cons. This is definitely my favorite rwby weapon

I was so excited to get this. My first one, the paint was sloppy, the fins had no front hole carved to attach them so they just fell out, and the cap on the end of the hilt was broken off. So, I asked for a replacement. The second one, the paint was fine, but there were STILL no front holes for the fins and the cap was broken off AGAIN. Will be asking for a refund this time since I can't seem to get a decent one.

It came in perfect condition. My Weiss absolutely loved it and was surprised by the quality!

I would totally recommend this for a Weiss Cosplay. It is a little on the heavy side but easy to hold with one hand. The paint work needs a little work/ is not the cleanest but not to bad. Not 100% a perfect replica but looks almost like the real thing! Took a little bit to get the 4 wings to stay on/ in place but once I got them on the sword they stayed on. Over all totally would go prefect with any Weiss.
