I was looking for something to store shoes in at the front entryway so the dog wouldn't eat them :) I had been looking at used benches on FB Marketplace, but people seem to think that their chipped, ugly, and old rotted storage benches from the garage are a get rich quick scheme... So I looked real quick on Amazon and saw this. I figured for the low price it would be that mid 80s K-Mart quality (You know, where it bends after a month or so if you place anything over 1lb on it.) This bench FAR exceeded my expectations! It's quite heavy, and though it's obviously not solid hardwood, whatever plywood or pressboard they used to make it is very good. Simple to put together as well.

I over all like the bench. It did appear to be used on one side of the arm chair and the middle piece for inside storage arrive molded. To prevent returning the entire thing, I just sprayed it with bleach and it got a little better, however the instructions were so unclear for the piece and where it goes I still have not added it in. The hardware kit appeared to have a yellow liquid stain that I was praying it was not a animal that peed on it because it did have a bit of a smell. Nevertheless I put gloves on and took it out the package because again I really wanted the bench and it is a lot to return.I would have liked if the holes were better accessible with out screwing it in first and then using a drill. I’m not a manual labor person, however my husband only helped me for the hinges. Overall it is a nice bench with a good storage space. Would have liked bigger for the price we paid which was higher than a painted bench a little disappointed which is why I left off a star.

This bench was easy to assemble and the hardware is organized and not just tossed in random bags inside the box. It feels very sturdy to sit on, no creaking or wiggling. Best of all it fits in a corner of my entryway perfectly. This is a great bench for the price.

By today's standards, this is a quality piece of furniture. Quality wood parts properly milled and predrilled making assembly easy for a single person and even easier for two. It is very sturdy and looks good too. The only exception I found was the bottom for the storage compartment is too thin. they really should double the thickness of the piece of hard board they supply for this part.

It is hard for me to understand how I am the only one to get two benches that had several quality issues. Interestingly the two benches I received had different parts. The holes for the very first screws did not align with the board. Not a good start. We worked through that issues but the big problem came when we tried to install the lids. None of the holes matched up for the hinges. Also, the holes on one of the lids was on the wrong end. Additionally one of the lids was a completely different color than the rest of the bench. So, Per the instructions I called the "customer service" number listed on the instructions. What I got was a recorded message telling me to go to their website and fill out a form. So, there was no customer service person to talk to and try resolve the issues Thanks to Amazon I was able to return both benches and eventually get a refund. If you decide to go ahead and buy this bench I would strongly urge you to make sure the above issues don't exist before putting it together.

This was a smidge smaller than anticipated but still fit where I wanted it to go. Was pretty simple to put together and all pieces fit nicely. I needed a bench with storage and this fit the bill nicely!
