ForEverlast GH Game Hanger Tripod

I am using this product for GARDENING... Yes Gardening.I had to remove 37 four foot tallshrubs and it works Great! Pulls the plants out with little effort... roots and all.. Just drop the cable/hook, wrap it around the base of the plant... and them turn the Hand Crank....Makes the removal almost fun to do.. It would normally take hours for me to remove just 1 plant... Now I can remove a plant in about 5 minutes... and I'm talking about over 5 year old, well rooted plants... The manufacturer of this device could probably triple their sales if they marketed towards GARDENING... Yes that's right... I said Gardening!

It took two tries to get the tripod delivered. The first was damaged in shipping and never arrived. The second was damaged as well and was missing a part which I fortunately had in my basement. The tubing was dented in where the legs come together and I had to hammer it round so the leg would fit. The gears on the toy winch didn't line up and adjustments had to be made to allow them to mesh. The nut that holds the handle on the winch was missing. I had to use a round file to get the locking pins to line up on two of the legs. After waiting a month to get the tripod I was determined to make it work. After it was finally assembled it worked very well for what I needed it for. My advice, be very handy with mechanical stuff.

First time buyer of this item. Was looking for something simple to use on a friends ranch. So far my only complaint is that the instructions don't really tell you which tools you need, so if you are taking it away from your home you have to take your whole toolbox with you, instead of the specific tools you'll need. The picture isn't that great when trying to figure out which way the winch assembly goes on. Will see how it does when I string a deer up on it to clean.

I use this device as a hoist for motorcycles which generally do not exceed the lift capacity of the hoist but it did sort of strip its gears when lifting a motorcycle that, according to the service manual, should have been within its capabilities.

Very well built. Piping is very heavy, and the cable is solid.

This is one of those devices that has so many uses, sure, I use it for hunting, but I've used it to hang outboard motors on boats, lift engine blocks and more. I wish they had better winch assy's though. I am planning to change mine out to add a small 12v winch.

OK... just need to redrill the snap button holes,,didn't line up,,or that the cable reel was welded on backwards and cable caught in between pole and reel,,,and is best set on solid ground. Don't know how the busted up packaging made it in shipping. But I didn't need it for a dead animal. Otherwise useful.

I bought this to lift heavy items around my yard. This thing is actually pretty darn tall. Works well, and is easy to set up by one person. Many uses and breaks down for easy storage. Quality built. Excellent tool to have in your collection.

It is being given as a gift next week.

I just received the tripod today Feb.3/14. I like what I see except the top of the tripod came damaged. One of the pipe connectors was bent inward , therefore I wasn't able to put it together until I straightened it out. Other than that I'm happy with what I see.
