Dr. Martens Women's Cynthia Dark Brown Chelsea Boot

I wear a 7 US, but with DM's I wear a 4 UK, which is a 6 US. DMs run big in my experience.These are lighter than typical DM boots. Compared to my Chelseas, these are comfortable right out of the box and not nearly as heavy. No painful breaking in. Zero blisters or pinch zones.The construction of these boots seems a bit low quality, a least compared to the Chelsea or 1461. For example, single line stitching rather than double. The soles are thinner and are not the chunky style that's typical with DMs. I would've liked to have more robust stitching and thicker leather. The toe box isn't nearly as hard or stiff as my other DMs. If their intention was to be wearable out of the box, they nailed it. These are super comfy right when you first put them on.The leather is on the thin side, but it's smooth and it's a pretty brown, shiny satin finish.There are two insoles, one faux fur lined, and the other typical phone with pillows under the heel and ball of the foot.Overall I like these boots, they're comfortable and lightweight, and they look good. If desert/chukka boots are your thing. My only complaint is that for the price, the construction should be higher grade. I know most DMs are made in Asia now, but my Chelseas that are made in Thailand are well-constructed beasts. These are from Vietnam.

I'd recommend these boots if you're looking for a comfortable, lightweight chukka style boot with a roomy toe box. No, they're not the typical Dr. Martens' heavy, chunky style, but that seems obvious in the pictures, so I don't feel they're being misrepresented. I'm glad I heeded another reviewer's comments about sizing and ordered a size down from what I'd normally have bought. I'm a size 7 in women's boots, and I ordered a size 4 in these. They're plenty roomy in both width and length with medium weight socks, and a size 5 would definitely have been way too large. For this reason I'm only giving these boots 4 stars, since I feel the sizing advice in the item description is off and could lead to the inconvenience of ordering the wrong size and having to go through the hassle of an exchange. I found these boots to be of expected quality for an Asian-made product at this price point. They're basic and definitely aren't of the same quality of my old, edgy British-made Docs from back in the day, but I was looking for a pair of brown chukka boots and like the smooth finish of the leather, which is soft, pliable, and of even quality and thickness. After having ordered and returned a pair of more classic looking Clarks Acre Bridge boots, whose stiff cuff cut painfully into the back of my leg and left red marks, I appreciate the softer leather and more leg-friendly cuff of these boots. The pull tab is a bonus, making them easier to put on. As another reviewer points out, these boots come with two different types of inserts: one faux fur and one with heel and ball-of-foot cushioning. These boots are actually roomy enough that I think the faux fur insert could be used on top of the cushioned insole and worn with a thin sock for the best of both worlds. Overall, I'd highly recommend these boots if they're the look you're seeking.

Bought them for Christmas for my wife. I've been a Docs wearer for like 30 years, and she's never really been a fan. I went with this style so she could wear them to work and not look like she was wearing combat boots with her dress pants. She loves them and has worn them every day since. Fit perfect out of the box, and came with an extra set of 'soft wair' insoles.

Love these! My favorite Dr Martens and shoes. Have them in black too. I added the premium insoles for amazing comfort.

Comfortable out of the box. Perfect height and quality construction.

I returned these because they were too large, especially across the arch and around the ankle area.
