Not super useful
Has rudimentary information. I had to get most of my information from BMW Motorcycle forums.

Great Manual to Have
This is a really good manual to have, I wouldn't want to be without it. I have a 2002 r1200c, quite a classic. The only reason I didn't rate a "5 star" is that this isn't quite as detailed as I would have hoped. For example, it is very clear about how to change a turn signal bulb……by my turn signal itself got damage and I ordered a new one……and there were no instructions on actually detaching and changing the turn signal housing. But, that's pretty minor, I think it overall does an excellent job for service and repair. I would buy it again.

Excellent manual.great price
Excellent manual.detailed, all the info you need to work on your bike is in there.sometime info like a torque specs is in the text portion and not in the spec section and you have to dig but it is in there.this is the only aftermarket imanual I buy and have purchased 1 for every motorcycle I haved owned since I was 13,over 40 years ago.

Detailed, on the critical stuff.
Good reference book, details a LOT of bikes in one, which makes it rather messy. One suggestion is before beginning some work, highlight the parts of the manual which you need to pay attention to for your particular model. It also does not go into detail about non-critical electrical accessories, such as installing/replacing the OEM heated handle bar grips. My 'dash' is slightly different than the one pictured/illustrated in this book (I have a 2000 R1100R), so it can be a little confusing, but still a great reference, and important for anyone who likes to maintain their own bike and avoid paying outrageous dealership labor prices.

Very well put together manual
I haven't bought a Clymer yet that had bad or missing essential information.Do have 2 complaints with this manual, though. First I wish it was ring or spiral bound so that the pages would stay open to where I need the information. Pain in butt have to wipe hands every 15 minutes to reopen the book.Second, I don't agree with where some of the information is located in the manual, but that is more personal based on the level of maintenance I perform.Love that this manual covers two of my three bikes, 98 C and 05 R.

It's a Clymer. Whattaya expect?!
Clymer guides are good for providing a very small flashlight for your dark path of motorcycle or automobile repair.I purchased this guide for my 1150 RT and admit I was frustrated at times. Ultimately I was able to perform the tasks as outlined in the book. I admit I have to break something or do it wrong once or twice (or 7 times) before I get the clue. Ultimately this guide has helped me to avoid the stealership for minor maintenance items.

It is what people say VERY detailed and a nice tool to have
What can you say, it is a book and it does not turn the wrench for you. There is a lot of free maintenance instructions for common and even some heavy maintenance on the internet for my bike by fellow riders and enthusiast. My bike is a BMW R1150RT. I bought it used and it was in good condition and saved about $20 over new. I am going to dig into my bike this winter, but from reading it, looks like I will be getting the pages dirty and bent....

Best auto/cycle repair manual I own
I have purchased an aftermarket repair manual for every car and motorcycle I have ever owned. I am 52 and have a shelf full of these manuals. this is far and away the most detailed and well written manual I have. It shows details few others bother with. This is a large book, about the size of the old chilton manuals, full of good info. I am really happy with the purchase.

Great information but perhaps too comprehensive
I was aware of Clymer manuals although I had not seen them on sale in the UK before. I had always used Haynes and found the latter perfectly adequate for the amateur. The price was good and I am not disappointed in the manual at all. Soft binding seems to imply a lack of robustness but I have no evidence that it will lack durability. The contents are good but my only criticism is that it tries to cover too many models - hence the number of pages and you have to be clear that you are reading the part that relates to your machine. This is not a serious problem but not one that is so evident in the Haynes manual (where the binding can also be suspect!).Plenty of good illustrations and photographs - a great colourful wiring diagram section all contribute to make it a useful addition to the workshop documentation for the enthusiast, although from YouTube I understand in the States these manuals are also used by professional non-franchised dealers.

Workshop manual for the above series of motorcycles
Falls short of 5 stars as there is inevitably a lot of: ...see section.., most of which is ok, but one 'see section' sent me straight back to where I had started from, without providing the information!I would also have liked information about the acceptable values / ranges (usually resistance or voltage) from the various sensors that provide the information for the engine management computer. However the price was competitive for a 700+ page manual which was of pretty good quality.(Perhaps my judgement is a bit harsh as I once owned an old Porsche 944 and paid just over 10% of the car purchase price for the official workshop manual - 6 ring bound volumes in a large box, cost £250 - and was worth every penny).

I should have bought this book in the first place ...

Better than Haynes
Comprehensive. Well written. Good detail. Informative pictures. A lot better than Haynes.
