Nice quality birdbath does great job of keeping water from freezing
I had previously used a different version of API birdbath that lasted for many, many years. I decided to try this larger one. I just bought the birdbath, without the ornate stand that you can buy with it. The mounting kit that comes with it is very versatile and allowed me to mount it onto the end of a log (see picture) to get it off the ground. The center hole on the bottom of the birdbath uses a standard 1/4 inch x 20 tpi threaded insert. So if you want to, you can use your own mounting configuration that provides a 1/4 inch x 20 tpi bolt. The birdbath is made of a sturdy high quality plastic that is not flimsy or brittle. I find it easy to clean the birdbath. I just tip the old water out and wipe it down with a paper towel. I then refill with a gallon of fresh water, which fills it nearly full. The heater within the birdbath does a great job in preventing the water from freezing. It keeps the water temperature at about 59 degrees F (as measured by an infrared thermometer with outdoor temp at 31 deg). To save electricity, I plug the birdbath into an outdoor smart plug (Kasa brand) and have the power turn on only when the temperature drops below 35 degrees F by using an IFTTT routine (If This Then That). The heater uses a grounded 3-prong cord for safety, something many other birdbaths don't have. The only downside I've seen so far is that not may birds have utilized the bath after being out for over a month. I think the water may be too deep in the middle, so will probably place an appropriate size stone in the water. I have seen deer, squirrels, racoons, and other animals drinking from it, just not many birds. I'm impressed with the quality of this birdbath and would buy it again.EDIT 12/4/22: I recently set this birdbath up for the winter and it still works perfectly. I have lots of birds using it, without having to add any stones or anything. I've also seen an occasional squirrel drinking out of it as well as deer (especially if it's been below freezing weather for a long time). It's fun watching the wildlife out the window. I added a photo of some Robins in a dirty birdbath that needs cleaning and refilling.

Works very well
This heated bird bath is awesome! I took off the porcelain bowl and It was very easy to install on my porcelain stand. We hit 0 and 1 degrees in oklahoma and wasn't sure how this would work. I looked out this morning with 9 degrees temp and I saw light steam rolling off. Went out and checked and the bowl was completely thawed and the water was still cold didn't feel like any over heating was going on. This bowl I have to say works like advertised and love it!!

Great heated birdbath
Purchased in October 2020 and it still works great. Today is very cold with a wind chill of -11 and it still works. Thanks for the great product.

Heater works great - Installation (for our situation), tricky.
The functionality of the heater is superb. I can only attest for temperatures as low as 10 degrees but the water has remained completely unfrozen throughout the winter. We have not seen a noticeable change in our electric bill which was a concern prior to ordering, so it seems to work efficiently.I mounted the unit we purchased to a 9-1/2” diameter concrete pedestal, so a few alterations had to be made to the metal mounting brackets supplied, for our use. I would suggest that the manufacturer add a lock washer for each arm of the mounting brackets to make the installation easier. It appears that the hardware for most traditional mountings (railings and 4”x4” and 6”x6” post mountings), are adequately supplied in the box, although I would still recommend having a few lock washers on hand.Depending on how intensely it gets “used”, we just splash in some clean water and then refill. Easy enough. The end result is attractive, highly functional and life saving for the birds.

Very durable
This is the second one I bought. The first one lasted for over ten years. It is very durable. The birds love to drink water in the winter and is fun to watch them

HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE.
First of all, it's not immediately clear that the pedestal does NOT come with this, which is shocking given the price. Luckily, we had an old bird bath, so I disassembled the top off that one. Second, the directions for the mounting hardware say to, "Lightly turn the screw so that it gently digs into the plastic" of the pedestal, which is UTTER nonsense. The screws meet the plastic and then push the hardware away from the pedestal. The previous owner of the bird bath (it came with our house) apparently had tried to drill holes into the pedestal... but none of those holes matched up to where we needed them. We went to Ace Hardware and got better screws and an Allen wrench, to use instead of the crappy ones included in this set. Those didn't work any better. After almost 2 hours, we're calling it quits. At some point later, we plan to get a drill bit, drill new holes, and use more substantial screws that will hopefully do the job. What a HORRIBLE design and pain in the neck. Worst product I have EVER purchased on Amazon, hands down.

Works Great
Even with overnight temperatures in the low-20's there hasn't been a trace of ice. It took a while to attract birds, but now they love it.

It’s easy to clean, and works great keeping water thawed in the
This is the second one of these bird baths that I have purchased in the last few years. The birds in my backyard love it, it’s big enough for three or four sparrows at a time to splash around and have fun, it’s easy to clean and does a great job of keeping the water melted in the winter time.

Pretty simple
I love the mounting options you have with this item. I just rinse it daily and refill it with water. When the water evaporates it leaves residue that looks off but once you rinse it and refill it, you’ll see it’s still the same colour. I didn’t think it was working at first because everything was cold but so far we are at -10 Celsius and it’s still water, not warm, but it’s still water. Overall I’m pretty sure the birds give it a talons up!

Great unit. Keeps water thawed in very cold weather.
Really like this unit. It did not come with instructions, but found them on the internet. We installed it on a cement pedestal to provide stability. At first we thought it wasn't working (water froze the first night at -30°C). But we then found the issue, one of our outside plug was not working. It worked very well once we fixed it. It worked. thawed the existing frozen 2in of water in a few hours. Most importantly, the birds like it.
