great product + great price + great customer service = MUST BUY!
Had a large media center that I had to replace because my 36" tube TV finally gave up the ghost and no decent size LCD would fit. No matter. There are a thousand TV stands out there that will hold large screen TV's. The only problem is, as I found out, most would not hold all my AV equipment. In particular, my over sized center channel speaker which is over 18" wide and 9" tall. A big boy for sure. Add to the fact that my house is decorated in blacks and didn't want a brown TV stand. I searched through literally 1000's of stands on line and nothing worked. Most couldn't accommodate such a large center channel speaker (and if it could there wasn't enough room for the receiver, cable box, blue ray etc.) and even the few I found that could were the wrong color. I was about to give up when I cam across Sonax. To my excitement, I found it not only could accommodate this large center channel speaker and all my other equipment with storage room to boot, but was also the perfect color and to top it off CHEAP! I was looking at units twice the price and they didn't meet my needs. I ordered immediately. UPS dropped it off a few days later and I didn't realize until I was putting it together that the top piece had been damaged slightly. I looked at the box and it too had damage. I emailed about the damage and received some of the best customer service I've ever had. They shipped out a replacement top piece at no charge to me whatsoever and it came quickly. Even though it was clearly a shipping problem, they stood behind the product and resolve extremely promptly and to my complete satisfaction. I can't say enough about how that makes me feel about Sonax as a company. I have had things arrived damaged before from other manufacturers and got the run around and often left in my hands to resolve with UPS myself but Sonax really stepped up here. Other things I'll note is that this was one of the easiest pieces of furniture to put together that I have ever done. Crystal clear instructions, simple to follow, and easy for a single person to put together by themselves and this was a fairly large stand. I was probably done in 10 minutes or so. It also included a few extra assembly pieces (like a shelve holders) so nice to know if I ever lose one I have a spare. But all that aside - IT LOOKS FANTASTIC! Really sets off my room and my new TV looks great on it! I'm extremely happy with this purchase and I can't recommend Sonax enough for the reasons I stated in the title!

Best bargain TV stand/quality TV stand.
Just like you I looked and looked and looked at TV stands, Flat Screen wall mounts, furniture you name it to hold my television. After exhaustive hours of research I settled on the Sonax brand as being the best balance of perceived quality, style and functionality. This TV stand ships in a very well packed, tidy box. Foam surrounds the perimeter of the box. The two large faces are just protected by the box's cardboard construction. The design doesn't get much simpler, its a top and bottom piece with four vertical walls and three adjustable shelves. The "fiberboard" backing is VERY stiff and strong, much improved from the flimsy cardboard of many other "budget" mass produced pieces. There are no cutouts for wires/connections, though the backing only covers 90% of the back. The instructions are to install it flush with the bottom thus leaving about a two inch gap at the top. This makes sense as heat from your components will hopefully rise and flow out. I chose to cutout a 14x6 inch section in the middle bay to route all of my speaker wire and connections for my Surround Sound Receiver, this was accomplished with a reciprocating saw and a metal cutting blade, it went very smoothly. I suppose a razor blade would suffice but it would take A LOT of effort and you'd have to score and break it.The glass doors mount fairly well and like any other are a real test of your patience to get them "just right". The other hardware installs easily and holds well. Total construction time was 10-12 minutes, maybe. Longest time spent on adjusting the glass doors. The wood finish is exceptional for this price point, it seems to be real wood veneer with a satin or low gloss finish. Does NOT look plastic/fake at all. I'm sure its NOT wood veneer but its very convincing. Also its hard to see in the stock photos but the unit comes with 8 silver plastic feet. My carpet is so thick/fluffy that you can hardly tell its on feet. If you're on a hard surface it will sit about 1.5 inches off the floor because of the feet, a nice height to collect dust!!!The TV in the stock picture is probably a 50" or 55" judging by how my 50" sits on the stand. If you have a 60" or 65" check you dimensions before ordering, your TV might hang over the edge?Let you know in a year how it holds up.
