This was a gift for my father. The sound is full and memorable. It is a high quality musical instrument that plays in the wind and completely unlike the standard metal mobiles and wind chimes you see around. My mother saw one of these in a store a year before she purchased it and could not forget it. It's a wonderful addition to a home and hangs on our deck outside though protected by the overhang of the roof. We can hear it inside the house in our kitchen or when eating outside on the deck and it's lovely. It is as if the house sings. There were many choices of sounds from Music of the Spheres so it was difficult to make a selection. I am sure we would have been very happy with some of the others as well.

Yes, it's expensive! However, they have lasted me 2 spring, summer, falls so far. I put them in during the winter. I live in central NY state. I had them on a shepherd's hook 6 feet off the ground originally. meh. I then attached them to a tree near the corner of my house about 12 feet in the air. The sound could be heard in the kitchen, living room, one bedroom, and the entire back yard. They do sound obnoxiously bangy in high wind, but not damaged at all. The wind catcher is detachable. I will admit to being skeptical about the reviews I read here, but to be honest, this windchime has the most beautiful tones I've ever heard in a chime. Don't freak out when you take it out of the box and it's REALLY LOUD. It's hanging from a tree in my yard, and has the most beautiful, muted tones. Your neighbors won't hear it -- except maybe during a huge storm or earthquake. Very calming and soothing. Worth every cent.

Awesome and such great sound! My parents love their gift! I recommend going on the music of the spheres website and listening to the different sounds before you buy. (These were way cheaper on Amazon, but the company has a great website.)

The look and sound of the Music of the Spheres chime is outstanding. It is also a well-built chime. I have had mine only about a month but I have seen this brand really withstand the adverse Texas weather (heat, sun and rain) for a long time (5 years plus). I highly recommend these chimes.
