Wow! Impressive! It sprouted in like 3 days
Ok first of all i want to mention that ive never grown alfalfa before and defintely not an expert gardner or anything... i also have no idea exactly how fast alfalfa grows in general either but i planted it on saturday and it is now thursday of the following week so its been 5 days and im defintely happy with my purchase. Recently i became a bun mom to an army of rabbits, 25 to be exact and feeding them unlimited hay has been pretty expensive... ive been buying alfalfa hay from the rabbitholehay at $99 for 40 lbs. Well 25 little mouths to feed has me going through 40lbs of hay in just a few days so i figured id attempt to grow it myself.. since this is my first time i had no idea what to expect but seeing it take off like that defintely makes me happy and im very hopeful. I live in Southern California and basically just bought a cultivator and tilled a section in my backyard and sprinkled the seeds by hand and then threw some of that compressed coconut fiber on top and ive just been watering it a few times a day making sure i keep it nice and moist. I didnt test my soil or use any fertilizer or additives at all either.. fingers crossed it continues to grow as beautifully as it has so far! Defintely a happy camper!! Yayee!

Sprouted SO fast!!
I bought this seed to grow alfalfa in an enclosed yard for my domestic bunnies. The grass doesn’t grow fast enough to feed them. I bought this seed, not knowing what to expect. I sprinkled the seed all over the yard area, then spread some potting soil on top of seed very lightly. I kept the soil damp multiple times a day. I planted the alfalfa seed on Saturday and - no kidding - on Tuesday I had so many sprouts!! This photo is from 4 days after planting! I’ve never seen seed sprout so fast! Very happy and can’t wait to see how fast it continues to grow!

Great quality
This brought us quality alfalfa for our horses and was absolutely drought resistant.

Finally some results!
Was beginning to be disappointed but then the seeds finally sprouted, thought at first none was going to grow. Happy with my results.

Right genus, wrong species
Grows great, good price, but 3 weeks in and i’m starting to think this might be Medicago lupulina which is not as effective as true alfalfa (Medicago sativa), can anyome confirm this?

Good viable seeds
Purchased these long before I could plant, 4 years later, I threw the seeds a the crazy things grew. Wasn’t expecting that. Highly recommend.

Quality seed with good rate of sprouting
seed is very small so try your spreader first with similar size product, as you can waste a lot of seed starting and stopping as it is too expensive to waste any.
