Looks good, keeps time great, stays charged with normal wear. I really like how it can show UTC in 24 hour format on the digital display and show the local time in 12 hour format with the hands. The strap is not great. It's really stiff and thick. This causes the watch to stand up on the wrist instead of laying flat. I replaced it with a NATO strap, which is good now that it's installed, but the one I bought was too thick to shove through the spring bars without taking the second one off first. The lugs are made out of plastic, so this can't be repeated too many times.Edit: I'm updating my review to two stars from four because the price was upped from $82 to $112. The watch was worth it at the price I bought it, but for $112, you'd expect it to be all metal.

Almost 5 stars, if not for the band
I love the watch--I have an earlier model of this style of WaveCeptor that still works fine after 15 years. I am retiring it only because, after wearing it in all kinds of outdoor activities, the crystal finally got so scratched up it was becoming difficult to read.My only problem with this version is that the band is unreasonably thick and clunky and doesn't even wrap around my wrist right. The good news is that this watch uses standard watch band connections so any aftermarket band with a 20mm pin will fit.

Great watch
Keeps perfect time to the second thanks to being a Wave Ceptor. The solar charged battery stays charged just by wearing it, even in winter when it stays covered outside by a coat sleeve quite a bit. The cloth watchband is comfortable and fits well. Like it much better than the Casio plastic bands. Uses standard pins so will be easily replaceable, unlike the plastic bands. I like the size and fairly simple look of the watch. Not huge like many watches. Has a couple of different function but is simple to operate and I don't accidentally bump the buttons. All in all a great watch for the price.

My Choice for an everyday timepiece!
This is my second CASIO Waveceptor watch. I am still using the first one that I purchased from AMAZON over a year ago. I got this as a replacement, because I damaged the crystal faceplate with a deep scratch. The watch still works, but I now use it when working in the yard, around machinery, or when it may receive further faceplate damage. The replacement is worn when I go to work and other non-rugged activities. This is the best watch I have every owned. It keeps excellent time, based on receiving timing signals from WWV-B in Bolder, Colorado every other night. It also has a solar rechargeable system that works to keep the internal battery charged indefinitely. For the money, this is the best and only watch I will ever own.Maybe you will feel the same, if you own one.

In many ways, the perfect watch
In many ways this is the perfect watch. It combines every feature you'd ever need particularly atomic timekeeping and the solar charging. And the look is of a simple field watch despite all that complexity. The band isn't great and I swapped it out for another black canvas band from Barton. Besides that, the two drawbacks that I see are, the settings are a bit complicated to remember and you'll need to consult the manual, so keep it around. Second is the build quality of the case is pretty cheap and plasticky for the price you pay, which is a shame. It is nowhere close to the durability you'd find in G-shocks or even other tough solar casio watches. That said, I'm pleased with the watch overall. (If you can't get reception of the Atomic time signal, I recommend downloading the iOS app Clock Wave, which allows for easy syncing of the time).

Great Watch
Pros- Very nice looking (changed black band for a Barton shadow gray silicone)- Extremely legible, even in a dark room watching t.v. I can easily see the time at a glance!- letters in digital window much larger than Seiko and Citizen solar field watches - very easy to see day and date (and I need help seeing close)- Lightweight (and even more so with the Barton band)- Easy to change time zones when traveling- atomic clock sync worked on a clear night when watch was more than 15ft. from the window - and I'm in Maine!Cons- The three button design makes many adjustments more complicated than the older 4 button style, but with a smartphone, I really wouldn't be using alarms and timers much anyway.

Elegant and practical watch
Perfect watch except for the stiff leather strap. Just buy a metal strap online and transform this into an elegant and expensive looking watch!

Happy with this watch
This is my third Wave Ceptor watch. The other two (one analog, one digital) are still working great, but they're more than 15 years old and kind of beat up. So when I saw a price deal I decided it was time to spring for a new one. The technology is basically still the same, I guess because it has proven itself. The solar-rechargeable battery is new and a nice feature. The dial is bigger than my old analog, allowing for a clearer display and the hands and numbers glow in the dark for a while. The little dial light is still there. The watch was running when I took it out of the box, with the battery showing a medium charge level. The last calibration date showed as 103 days ago, and in that time it had gained just over three minutes. That's the movement accuracy on its own steam, about half a second a day. It's a possible concern for people who are unable to calibrate the watch every night, but for those who can, the time it keeps is always precise. The black textured nylon band is initially pretty stiff, but it loosens up in the course of the first few days and shapes itself comfortably to the wrist. It looks pretty good, at least as durable as any leather band, and will probably withstand water exposure better. The buckle holes are reinforced with metal rings, so they'll probably last forever.
