Why is this suddenly soooo expensive? i've been buying it for $2 or so at walmart for years (although i can't find it there now)!

When you buy from an in dependent seller you are paying for a product as well as a service. There are costs involved to get the item and ship it to you which includes; amazon charges fees to the seller per item sold, shipping and mailing supplies are a big part of the fees and the time and labor plus any profit. All depends on supply and demand for the product. Also how many sellers are trying to sell that item.

How many pieces in a one and a half pound bag?

Not sure cause it is all gone but there is plenty in the bag !!
