Perfect Time Machine drive
I purchased this as a Time Machine for my M1 MacBook Pro and haven't been disappointed. Though this isn't the 'Mac' version that WD sells, the only (official) difference is that products are formatted differently out of the box. Well, that's what Disk Utility is for! So save yourself some money. The Ultra version of My Passport features a half metal enclosure (though to be frank it's like tin) and USB-C cable with USB-A adapter, making it convenient for any modern Mac. The drive is much smaller than I anticipated and could easily fit in a jacket pocket! Though the lack of protection suggests this wouldn't be a good idea...Being sat on a desk with its rubber feet, quiet operation and sleek design, I think this makes the perfect Time Machine companion. A general rule of thumb is that your Time Machine should be at least twice the size of your Mac's drive, so 2TB seems to be the sweet spot for most people. Also keep in mind that the 4TB model is not only a lot more expensive but also twice the thickness. No issues!

Great little backup disk with WD reliability
This is a great little backup hard drive.Great capacity, small and easily portable. It comes with a USB C to USB C lead and a USB C to USB A adaptor. The adaptor connects to the end of the lead and this gives you the ability to connect the disk to a USB C or USB A port on your PC or Laptop.Very easy to use.If you are going to lug it around in a laptop bag then get a protective case for it to keep dust out of the USB C connection and to protect the hard drive from knocks

Looks great
Excellent appearance and quality. I use on my main MacBook Air M1.I formatted it to exFAT and now I can use it both on MacOS and Windows on my second laptop. The cable is really of average quality, but for me this is not a problem.

Very quick, huge capacity, incredible price (low!)
I’ve down loaded 750Gbs of my photos with no trouble or fuss and stored them on a new computer. SSD is like lightening and the whole thing is tiny and light.

A mini marvel
This palm sized store replaced a brick-sized unit that gave out. Easy to set up without the need for any software, but help is only a chat away if needed. A great back-up that reassures that content won’t be lost.

Seems OK but included cable poor quality and won't plug in.
The drives seems ok just a hard drive but included cable is very poor quality and won't plug in. I have a MAC but bought the PC version, it seems stupid to pay 10 pounds more for MAC version when the PC version can be reformatted in 2 minutes for Mac OS.

Great value!
Good speeds for a mechanical hard drive. Very slim, lightweight, and quiet whilst in operation. Now has a USB-C port! A USB-C to USB-C cable is included, as is a USB-C female to USB-A male adapter. The drive works flawlessly.

Could it be any slower?
I regret having bought this external HD; it’s so slow it's as if technology went back in time. And whays the point of that USB type C? As if the USB by itself is going to speed up the whole thing.Well, I’m sorry I’m not impressed by Hard Disk Rotational Speed 5400 RPM!. I have been paying premium for SSD’s for a long time. HD’s at the speed above shouldn’t even be made anymore.
