Sunbird General Tso's Chicken Seasoning Mix, 1.14 Ounce Packet (Pack of 4)

I like using this seasoning but wasn’t able to find it in my local grocery stores. So I was happy to see that Amazon stocked this item. I received the items right on time.

I buy this product once or twice a month. It is such an easy go to meal, the season packet adds the perfect amount of spiciness to this dish. This is the best at home General Tso I’ve ever made.

As described

This is pretty good stuff, you will need flour, sugar and soy sauce to add to the package. It came out really well, tasty and a lot like the local Chinese deliveries we get around here except that this package is not as spicy as the delivery versions. If you don't like it to be very spicy or want to add your own chili powder, you should be happy with thispacket. Easy to make and yummy!

It is very simple to make this into a sauce, following the directions on the packet. Which include proceeding to make the familiar Chinese stirfry. But I also like to just open the package and sprinkle a little.

This is always a favorite! One of my packages came busted open with powder everywhere and Amazon was quick to replace it at no cost to me. Never had that happen again.

I recently purchased some Sun-Bird General Tso’s Chicken seasoning packets UPC: 074880070323 on Amazon. The vendor was WoW Smarti and Fulfilled by Amazon . After receiving them, I prepared a packet (The same way I have every week for the last 5 years) and was disappointed and disgusted. It smelled really bad when I made it so I threw away the first batch. I washed the pan and got out the sugar and soy sauce and water and made the sauce again thinking maybe I scorched it or did something wrong the first time. It smelled the same, kinda like a pulp mill or the dumpster behind a produce store.It took quite a while to get the smell out of the house.I dared to taste it and had to spit it out! Tasted like rotten tomato soup burned in an aluminum pan with a hint of bile. It took even longer to get rid of the aftertaste!After being thoroughly grossed out, I looked closer to the packet’s ingredients. There is a big difference in the listed ingredients compared to the last batch I reordered from the same vendor. Also I noticed the net weight was slightly different from the displayed information on Amazon (was 1.14 oz now 1.13oz). I usually get my packets from 2 vendors on Amazon because I can’t get them at Wal-mart anymore and have been pleased with the product for years. I make it 1 or 2 times a week and we loved it until now.I am concerned about the drastic recipe changes and the inedible sauce this packet produces. You could smell the difference when opening the packet. No one would willingly eat this!

This sauce packet makes very good sauce. We add more red peppers, as well as broccoli and carrots.
