Q: how long is the power cable from the unit to the plug? and is the remote wireless? also which side of the unit does the power cable come out of?

The power cable is appx. 7-8 feet. The cable comes out of the left side/corner of the unit when facing it after installing on the wall. First there is cable (appx. 3 feet), then there is a square power switch box, and then again cable (appx. 4 feet) which goes in your wall power socket. The remote is wireless and works well from a distance of appx. 8-12 feet.
