Q: Is this approved for use on the CFA exams?

Yes, this "BA II Plus Professional" model is approved, along with the regular "BA II Plus". The "Professional" model has another 4 useful functions NFV; MIRR; PB; DPB which might be needed in the Level 1 exam. About at least 6 months ago, TI came out with an exact model but black in color. Has the exact functions and model name "BA II Plus Professional" phasing out the silver-gray colored ones? cost a few dollars more. This is also allowed in the CFA exams. Good luck in your CFA exam. PS: The other allowed model is the HP 12C which includes the various variants of 12C: Platinum; Platinum 25th anniversary edition; Platinum 30th anniversary; Prestige. Our class has adopted the "BA II Plus Professional" model for all finance courses; there are quite a few CFA candidates in our Program. The calculator has a silver face with charcoal edges and back. I am honestly not sure of the manufacturing date, but the serial number is S-0605B irf that helps any.
