Q: Any reason the 10ft gauze is less expensive than the 5ft pack?

This is a wild guess since I'm not the seller but the 10ft length seems to be more common than the 5ft length, therefore that may explain the less cost (think bulk buying). Either way you want more of this stuff than less because when you need it you can't have too much but you can definitely have too little...and then you're screwed

Q: Can this safely be used for packing a wound?

Of course. That is what I bought it for. Check out skinny medic on YouTube for information on using this product.
