Q: Silly question - can you add this powder to sparkling water, shake it and end up with non-alcoholic beer? If not, is there suche a thing?

If you wish to make a non-alcoholic beer, my suggestion to you would be to make a regular, alcoholic beer base, then put the contents into a large saucepan and cook over a low heat. The alcohol will evaporate first, since it has a lower boiling temperature than water. If your brew is 5% alcohol, then this equates to 6.4 oz of ethanol per gallon of mixture (beer base). So you will want your final volume to be 121.6 ounces instead of 128 ounces. Put in 121.6 ounces of water into your saucepan, and measure the depth with a clean ruler or scoring the side of your saucepan with a scratch mark. Once the mixture has cooled, add a stabilizer like a campden capsule and/or potassium sorbate to prevent re-fermentation. Add sugar to sweeten, and a carbonation tablet (found at most brewing shops). This is as close to a non-alcoholic beer as you can get!

The real answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!. It has ZERO flavor. Two heaping teaspoons in 8oz of almond milk barely changed the flavor. Money completely wasted that is now in the landfill. If you're thinking of purchasing this for malted milk, save yourself the trouble. You can get the exact same effect by flushing $10 down the toilet.
