Clever purchase, cleverer review
BIGGER, LONGER, AND PARTIALLY CUT:I bought these for a gaming chair that cost me nearly $400 but had garbage wheels and the base of which was too low, causing the gas cylinder to scrape my hardwood. Seeing as these are 3" tall, they are perfect to both lift the base higher off the ground and keep my hardwood in great shape. The only gripe I have is that the pegs that connect to the chair base are longer than other replacement wheels and so I had to drill the hole deeper to make these things fit. My chair base is plastic to that was easy enough, but if you have a metal chair base, I would HIGHLY suggest triple checking the length measurements to make sure they aren't too short or too long.THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE GREASE (OR IN THIS CASE LEAVES NEGATIVE FEEDBACK):The biggest complaints I see for these types of wheels in general, but pointedly at this specific listing, are that they still leave marks on floors, are hard to move/cannot pivot, and/or the ball bearings are crap and come apart easily.MOURNING WOOD:I can say without a doubt these things don't leave marks on hardwood. I don't use a chair mat and have no need for one, especially with these wheels. These are basically scooter wheels made of a soft polyurethane composite and they glide across hardwood surfaces with no problem. If your desk area is carpeted you will probably have a rough time without the use of a chair mat because these wheels have more traction than an orthopedic surgery wing at general hospital.WHEEL AND DEAL:As for the movement and pivoting, it hasn't been a problem for me, unless you are trying to power slide like a brain dead marmot. By that I mean, if you swivel the chair slightly so that all the wheels face the same direction BEFORE you move, it will work fine. If instead you just try to move in that direction and all the wheels are facing different directions then of course you are going to meet with resistance (which is why there are so many people with bent frames and locked wheels). Have you ever tried to move a shopping cart sideways without pivoting the wheels first? No? Of course not, because you aren't a moron. Apply the same logic to these wheels and you will be able to maneuver like you are competing in a roller derby from the comfort of your office area.BEARINGS, BASIC MATH, BATTLING OBESITY:Lastly people complain about the bearings going to pots very quickly and greasing up their floors. The MAX weight capacity is 500lbs. Now I am not a genius, but I know enough to see a max rating on anything and know that its not a good idea to push items to their limits. That being said, the max capacity includes the weight of your chair. Most gaming chairs are ~60 lbs and most office chairs, at least wide-assed or high-backed ones weigh even more than that. So however much you weigh, you want to add the weight of your chair to that and determine how close to max you are. For example I weigh 225 lbs, so with the combined weight of my chair, I am putting 285 lbs of weight on these wheels. That is nearly 60% of the max these things can handle. But if you are say, 350 lbs and your chair is 60lbs, that means you are putting 410 lbs (82%+) on the wheels and then jackknifing them around your office hoping to not capsize. Yeah, good luck with that. I have had no issues with the bearings or weight capacity.FINAL RESULTPROS+ Doesn't leave marks on hardwood or other flat finished surfaces+ Slide great+ Fits most chairs (may require some extra work)+ Great for the priceCONS- Fatties will shred these puppies and get mad at the manufacturer (overtaxing the weight will cause problems)- Fatties Part 2: Pivot Boogaloo (learn to use wheels before posting a bad review)

Super smooth
Easy and quick upgrade to most office/gamer chairs. Super smooth, bearing wheels, inline skate style. Adds about an inch to the height, but most chairs are adjustable. This is so nice and much quieter. Ordered some for my office chair and liked them so much I got some for my wife’s chair, she loves them.

Perfect for Hardwood Floors
It almost moves too easily, on firm carpet or hardwood. We recently renovated our house, discovering beautiful hardwood under carpets the previous owner put down. 1 refinish and polish later, we've got these wheels on our desk chairs to prevent scratching. My chair's 25 years old at this point (it's fine), and these wheels glide along smoothly enough that my cat sitting in it and grooming is enough to glide him along the floor. We also put them on our new office chair instead of the included wheels, and it was a perfect fit. Just click into place, and you're good to go.

Work really well, but not so great smell
The wheels themselves work fantastically! I can smoothly glide my office chair between the rug and laminate floors with minimal-to-no issues.4 stars overall because installation was a bit challenging (though that could just be my specific chair), but the big thing is that when I unboxed the product, the wheels smelled pretty strongly of cigarette smoke, or something very similar, and that smell grew stronger over the couple hours after installation instead of dissipating. The whole office smells of cigarettes now which is a bummer & I hope some air fresheners fix it or I’ll have to return the wheels and try my luck elsewhere.

Easy to install, work great, seek advice, tools
You will wonder why you didn’t change those miserable old casters years ago. Easy to install (though removing the old casters on an old chair proved rather difficult.) That chair is humming around the kitchen linoleum now! No marking on floor, just smooth cruising. On my carpeted floor the wheels roll just fine when I’m not sitting in the chair. It’s a semi-shag rug so I’m not surprised. I imagine a flat office carpet would be much better for joy riding. So I stand and move the chair, good exercise! Eventually I’ll try a floor mat which will be much better. Very pleased with my choice. I watched a YouTube video for advice, found it very helpful. A dab of WD40 on the stems and the leg attachment holes made everything easier. I sprayed a little on the old casters too since it was very difficult to pull them free. Finally removed old casters with a long flat blade screwdriver and gripping pliers, installed new with a one inch diameter dowel a few inches long and a hammer. The dowel protects the roller base and gives just the right spot to strike your blow and seat the stem. Then off to the races! I do have experience with tools but I think other 70 yr old DIYers should be able to do this too. Actually hardest part was flipping the chair over to get to the legs!

Quality made rolls that are meant to last a longtime.
The quality of the rollers is very good and was easy to replace all five rollers. Rollers will last much longer since the are made from metal and not plastic. The rollers glide smoothly over floor surface. Would recommend to others.
