Excellent gas sniffer for the money. Detected a known gas leak, detected by my $250 professional gas leak detector in the same exact spot. It’s a bit slower to clear once it has detected gas but for literally more than a tenth of the price of the pro tool I can’t complain. It’s easily worth the money and peace of mind to have it around. It being pen sized js great for field work as well, makes jobs quicker and more efficient.

I bought this to find a leak in our trailer's propane system. it immediately "sniffed it out". Replaced the offending parts and checked the system again with the detector - no leaks. I'll be using regularly to check the system.I had also recently replaced the natural gas regulator on our home stove it seemed to check ok with soapy water, but this detector provided a double check.

I've had a few of these over the years. They are cheap enough so that I have two usually. I don't bother with soap bubble testing anymore. These are more sensitive, FASTER, and more accurate. I wouldn't do gas work without one of these. Flare fittings are great, BUT they can often leak a little if not perfect. These make sure you don't smell that small leak of gas.

My friend has a Toptes and it works well. The unit I received did not detect a methane leak behind our stove. I am writing this review to say that if you think something is wrong, keep trying. You may need a different brand or model. You may have multiple leaks (perhaps methane and carbon monoxide) and need multiple detectors. Do what it takes to find the problem. Hopefully you will find the right solution for your situation. These units are small, affordable, and very nice design.

Worked very well and good value. After the plumbers failed to mitigate a gas smell, I was frustrated by their incompetence and purchased this. Located the leak in minutes, sealed it, and the smell is gone. No gas is detected.

What a bargain!I knew I had a leak, didn't know I had two. Pinpointed both leaks with extreme accuracy which is nice. Be patient, go slow and let it do its job and you'll be rewarded. I fixed both leaks then, the best part, I was able to check, multiple days in a row that I got it fixed.Pinpoint accuracy and then peace of mind! Again, best money I've spent in a while, and it wasn't that much!
