Sturdy, high-quality
This smoke machine works great. It's really solid and sturdy. Produces good smoke. The little 12volt pump it has is MUCH more convenient to use than a compressed air supply -- it's a low-power pump, exactly what works well with a smoke machine. I found it helped to include a clear plastic hose between the Stinger's hose and the engine so I could see the smoke flow. I first tried it on a car that had no vacuum leak, so I had to fake it by disconnecting vacuum lines in different places to see how it'll expose a leak. Fantastic! If there's a leak you can't see because your view is blocked by engine parts, you'll definitely see the smoke.

Perfect system!
This is a quality unit at a super affordable price! I am just amazed honestly. Was not expecting this nice quality! So, off to how it works. So I did all the soaking of the wick and filling it up to the line they say to fill it to. Made sure the wick soaked for quite a while. Hooked it up to my compressor and a power 12v power supply in the garage. Waited for a few minutes and opened the valve and wow!!! Amazing smoke with perfect flow! I’m very impressed! Can’t wait to diagnose my evap issue this weekend!

Great DIY smoker. Nearly perfect.
It works just as advertised. I found it to make plenty of smoke and was able to identify my small leak in the EVAP system. For a DIY person like myself, it's ideal due to the low relative cost. If I were doing this type of work professionally, I would buy a better machine. My one criticism is the power cord. It is permanently attached to the oil reservoir and when you go to unscrew the reservoir to add oil, it's kind of a pain. The solution is to make the power cord detachable and that's what I did to mine.I cut the cord near the tank and then put a two conductor male plug on the smoker that you can buy at Home Depot for a couple of bucks. On the power cord I mounted the corresponding female plug. This modification makes screwing the oil reservoir on and off so much easier. It's cheap and easy to do, so I recommend this mod to anyone buying this machine.

I never write reviews but this deserved one
Simple to use. Basic, with no useless features that will likely break in the future. Construction quality is excellent. Was producing massive amounts of smoke within seconds of hooking to battery and leak was quickly found by filler neck of gas tank. You will not be disappointed.

Well built and works GREAT.
I'm an engineer, tinkerer, machinist, yadayada. I've been having a reoccurring issue with my 2008 Chevy truck and have put three canister purge valves on this truck (as well as vacuum solenoid and fuel tank pressure gauge) trying to throw rocks into the dark at this emissions code I keep getting. It turns out that I apparently keep getting really poor canister vent solenoid valves that don't work or fail quickly. This stinger smoke system works GREAT and put me on the faulty part right away. I wish I had bought it sooner. It's VERY well built - it's made from solid machined aluminum - and very much worth the investment. I'm a little surprised they can make it like they do at this price point and extremely happy with the performance.

High quality!
Great smoke machine! I got this to troubleshoot an engine lean code on my Land Rover LR3. It's made in California of high quality materials. Found a leaky o-ring on the PCV valve right away. Replacing o-rings is way cheaper than parts and taking the truck to the stealership!Happy customer!

Smell ? What smell?
What a great smoker, Period. Puts out more smoke than needed. But that's a great thing. This is professionally built and looks it. People complain about the smell. My wife said it's not any worse than my feet. Ha Ha very funny. All kidding aside it's well worth it.

Works like a charm.
Fired right up & worked with in minutes of hooking it up to the battery. I set my compressor to 90psi, but you could just set it to 60psi very easily. At any rate, it found my leak in the intake system of my e90 N54 powered BMW. The boost is back. You could buy a pressure test adapter kit for your inlets for a lot less money, and that would have been my next step had the smoke test failed to reveal anything, but the smoke test found my leak. So, I guess you can try and hear the leak (pressure test) or see the leak (smoke test). The only thing I didn’t like about it was the price. $149.00. I guess it’s better than $800 plus. The one thing that sold me was the few reviews by professional mechanics that said this particular model is just as good or better than $1000.00 plus machines they use at work.
