These little dudes do what they say and say what they do, I love them. Would be cool if they were a little quieter, but that's probably asking too much, you're still banging on things with sticks after all. They are quieter than nothing--you get a modest thud rather than a loud clack, and I worry less about putting dents in things. Being able to travel without carrying a pad around is great. I keep sticks with these on in my backpack now, as well as the car, so I can do rudiments at random moments if I have time to kill.

Got these for the rock band game. Does the trick, but doesn't muffle 100%. Good enough for an off label use.

Still allowed for a percussive sound and strike but it saved our ears and the teacher's sanity.

I don't know much about drums, so I didn't know what "muting" or "silencing" meant in terms of drums, but neither of these terms mean what they mean in real life. there is no silencing or muting of the drums when these tips are put on the sticks.
