Q: What version of windows does this run? Win 10 or Win 10 S

The Go, which I purchased on Aug. 3 at a Microsoft Store, comes with Windows in S mode installed. I was able to stand the stripped down operating system for four days. I've now switched to regular Windows 10 Home. Not being able to install software as simple as a stylus driver and a Flash blocker was frustrating. I will be adding a few other apps not sold in the Windows Store by the end of this week, as I become more familiar with the device. How does one switch OSes? You go to a page in the Windows Store and approve the change from S mode to full Windows 10 Home. It takes maybe a minute.

Q: Are there any usb ports and can i attach an hdmi?

Yes. There's a type C port which you can use with an HDMI connector. But that's just it. There is no USB ports but you can use a type C adapter or a usb hub with type C connector.
