Great product that gets the job done. Plug and play.
Worked as advertised but do not get this confused with an active adapter. This is a passive or straight through adapter and will only work if your machine that is sending the output is already doing the conversion. This is easy to identify by checking the display port on the machine and making sure it has (2) ++ next to the D. If you do not have these plus marks next to your display port than you will need an active adapter that comes with a power source. Another side not I should include is that I am using this product with a Dell workstation and Dell monitor with a generic DVI cable so I can not speak on whether not this adapter will work with other products other than Dell. I do not see a reason why this wouldn't work with different makes and models of monitors and workstations though.

Not particularly impressive but does the trick with no problems
Does what it's meant to and causes no issues so far. Not a very beefy cable, kind of your standard, run of the mill, cheapo HDMI cable thickness. So nothing particularly nice or remarkable about it. But no interference in the signal and nice clear picture, so no reason to complain either. And the ends seem well made and make good connections. To be fair there's not much going on behind the only PC I used it on so far, and it's not near any other PCs or electronics whatsoever, so not much of a stress test on it's shielding but so far so good.

Great price and build quality for a functional "passive" Displayport to DVI adapter (perfect for adding a second Display).
This Dell Displayport to DVI Single Link Adapter works fine for adding a second monitor to a system that has a Displayport on the mainboard/motherboard (we use them to add a DVI LCD monitor as a second monitor to new Lenovo desktops (M78, M79, E73, so far) with the first monitor using the onboard VGA-output). The build quality is a lot better than some of the other cheap Displayport to DVI adapters that I've used, and at the current price-point, it's easily the best buy out there for doing this. This is a "passive" Displayport adapter, which basically just converts the physical Displayport connection and transmits the video signal to the proper output connection. There is no conversion of the video signal, no DAC to accomplish it, it's simply sending the video signal over. This isn't an active adapter, so if you want to use for a third display coming from a card that supports Eyefinity, then it's not going to work. If you have a desktop with a VGA and DIsplayport adapter, and just want to use this to add a second display, then this should do the job, cheaply and efficiently.

Display Port has a locking button line Newer SATA cables, watch for it when disconnecting your cable
Great product for converting Display Port to an older DVI Monitor, it worked for me and should work for you too. Display Port has a catch lock on it much like the newer SATA Cables so if yours does not pull out easily make sure you are holding down on the button to release it. Don't do what I did and seek out a pair of pliers, thank God it took me too long to find it and I forgot what I was looking for... LOL... Then I did a Google Search only to find out that I simply had to hold down the button... HDMI has NO LOCK while Display Port DOES so keep that in mind....

Don't purchase unless you are 100% sure it will work
I purchased two of these items in hopes that it would work with my computer and it doesn't and when I went to return the items it says they are non-returnable. If I would've known this ahead of time I wouldn't have purchased these items, but I think it's rude to not inform your consumer that if they purchase these items that they are stuck with them even if they can't use them. So my advice on these are don't purchase them unless you know with 100% certainty that they'll work for you.
