Cleans your pots and pans to a beautiful shine, just as it always has
I used these Brillo pads all my life and they've never failed me. I even used them on my bicycle's wheels when I was young. Now I'm 76 years old and couldn't find them in the store. The alternative brand was smaller and didn't last as long as Brillo did, or do as good a job. I found the Brillo pads on line and they are just as large and work just as well as I remember. I'm totally satisified.

Great cleaning product for cast iron
BrilloI read about Brillo or rather soap soaked scrub pads in a magazine. I researched other brands of scouring soap but I decided to buy this (normally I would settle for generics) but the price on amazon was better than good.So far I have used it on sinks, in the shower, the wash basin, or stainless steel pots and even cast iron pots. I have to say that this is a great product and also gentle on the hands.Stainless Steel pots can get stubborn residues of food stuck to the bottom of the pan which are hard to remove, soaking and elbow grease only go so far. However soaking and brillo is a much effective method. I was afraid that it would scratch the pot but that has not happened. I guess the soaking helped because dry scrubbing would lead to scratches. It helps take away the grime and scum in the shower. Again it is seemingly safe to use on the bathtub. While I would not want to use these exclusively in the kitchen as dish soap works fine most of the time. I would definitely want to have some around for the tough food bits which cling as a result of steel pans and burnt messes. The company's website states the name Brillo is from the Latin word for 'bright',[1] though no such word exists in Latin; however, German, Italian, French, Spanish and English do have words for 'shine' or 'bright' beginning with brill- deriving from Latin words for beryl ( Source: Wikipedia)

Brillo vs S.O.S.
They definitely get the job done... and do a great job, however, in my opinion, they don't last as long as the S.O.S. steel wool soap pads. They run out of soap and start to rust faster, so I go through them a little quicker. Good for 1 or 2 dish washing sessions. Will begin to rust within 24 hours of use.
