Exactly What I Needed – Stiff, Workable, and Reliable!
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Why I Bought It:I needed a professional‑grade gel medium for my art projects that could hold texture while still being workable. Great for waves, and movement pieces!Pros:✅ Stiff yet workable – holds texture beautifully✅ Dries to a glossy finish as described✅ Performs exactly as expected for professional projects✅ Reliable quality from LiquitexCons:❌ Dries faster than I anticipated, so work quickly for best resultsMy Experience:The product worked perfectly for creating textured pieces. It held shape without slumping, and the finish is gorgeous. Even though it dried faster than expected, I’ll definitely be buying it again for future projects.Tip for Buyers:Have your tools and paint ready—this gel sets quicker than you might expect, which is great for finishing but requires efficiency.Would I Recommend?Absolutely! Perfect for artists who want a strong, glossy medium that holds texture without compromise.

One of the best items for your modeling toolkit
This stuff is great. Apply on with old brush or hobby tool. Can be smoothed, shaped or cleaned up with water. Form and let dry. Minimal cracking. Dries hard but easily carved or sanded. Paints well with acrylics. Useful for bonding items in displays or diorama scenery. Love it for modeling.

Great stuff! Don't forget to put the lid back on.
It certainly lives up to the promise of an easy and quick filler/modelling compound! Little errors can be quickly fixed and it sets-up in only about an hour for sanding or cutting with a sharp blade or craft-saw. It's hard but of a constant internal structure when fully set, so there are no surprises when carving.I still have the 8oz jar (now about half full) I bought from a local Art Supply over a year ago, so you don't use very much, but when you do it's the answer that nothing else can equal... Simple to use, NO mixing, and the best tool I have for application is a thin, offset, stainless-steel pallet-knife, that will make very small on-point fills or wide, flat spreading for painting textures. (Regular carbon-steel will RUST.)But if you forget to close the lid tightly after each use it will have hardened inside the jar by the next time you need to make or fix something. It's worth taking the extra trouble to make sure it's ON TIGHT.

LOVE! did not disappoint
I love it. Very helpful. I think of this product and my whole body feels relief. I'm so glad it exists, not only for creating texture in acrylic and filling gaps in 3-D work, but also because it saved me once when I needed an acid-free collage adhesive. This was recommended as such in some forums. It's very matte. It's very heavy-body. Keeps its shape nicely when dried.I gave it only 4 stars in the areas of ease of use and spreadability, just because it's not. But I have no suggestions on how to improve that. It's difficult to mix into paint --- takes some patience and muscle work. But that's normal for heavy body acrylic products. There's no way around that. The container is ugh as far as that the product tends to dry out quickly around the top if you are getting into it often, or for longer than a minute or so at a time with the lid off. But again, I see no way around that, and I just accepted it and tried to enjoy it as part of the personality of the experience.Well worth the money. Liquitex is my favorite brand, and this product did not disappoint.

Does what it's supposed to...
I bought this to do image transfers to fabric. It's OKAY; But while this was in shipping, I learned you can use modpodge to do the transfers with too! WHAT!?So I tried both with inkjet prints (you should definitely use laser prints for most projects; but I was experimenting). And because some people seem confused between laser and inkjet, I'll explain it. LASER printers are what places like kinkos, Office Depot, and big offices use to make lots of copies for really cheap. The prints will be a bit shiny anywhere there is color, and because the printed parts are ON the paper, they can also come off of the paper (which is what this transfer method does). INKJET printers are what most of us have at home. They use ink cartridges. The ink gets absorbed into the paper, and that's how we get a print. These are not best for transferring because you have to leave some of the paper behind; the image doesn't "come off" like it does with a laser print. YES, you can use inkjet prints, but you will have a much better result (and less of a pain in the butt) if you use laser.I actually like the way the modpodge worked better; the image is brighter and less of the photo came off in the "rubbing" phase. It also seems to be stuck down better, even though I used the same amount of product (or at least very close to it) for each. Both remained very flexible, and I would have no problem using either one for a design on a throw pillow. The container is pretty wide considering the size, so it's easy to just dip a sponge brush in there. The lid is also nice and grippy, so it's easy to get off, even if you are notorious for accidentally gluing lids shut -.-I DO like the liquitex, and it did perform, so it wasn't a total waste of money. So it gets 4 stars. But I bought it and didn't ACTUALLY need it. AND it didn't perform as well as the stuff I already had on hand. I can see myself using it for lots of other things, too. But if you are getting it for image transfers and already have modpodge on hand... maybe not the best use of $8.
