Great guitar and customer service
The guitar arrived with a static pickup switch. I contacted Customer Service at Schecter and they recommended a cleaner and if that didn't solve the problem, they would send a new switch. The cleaner fixed the problem. The craftsmanship is good, some frets are a bit unfinished but this is expected for this price, at least so they say.I got a two humbucker guitar to replace a BC Rich. Even though this guitar is not the metal vibe, the humbuckers sure purr like a pussy cat. It feels good to play it with the gain and volume all the way up. The guitar sounds good for blues, rock, heavy metal, jazz, it has nice tones, but it definitively likes to play blues. I like to play heavy stuff, but I somewhat always end up playing blues licks. With that said, I plan on getting a strictly metal guitar because this one doesn't even want to be tuned down to E flat or D.Other than the resolved issue with the switch and the frets, this guitar is ready to play out of the box.

Fret buzz easily dealt with
I finally got around to reading the reviews of this fine instrument, and was astonished to see so many frustrated buyers complaining about buzzing on the low frets. This is actually a common setup problem that has a simple solution. For whatever reason, the Omen Extreme seems to come setup for 11s, with the higher tension associated with medium-ish gauge strings. I’ll bet that a lot of these buyers immediately put a set of 9s on the guitar, and then started playing it. What is happening is that the truss rod has been adjusted for strings that put a lot more tension on the neck. All you need to do is get a 5/32 Allen wrench, remove the black plastic cover for the truss rod with a small Phillips screwdriver, and use the Allen wrench to turn the truss rod adjusting nut 1/4 turn counterclockwise, wait 15 minutes and see if the buzz is gone. If there is still a bit of buzz, turn the nut another 1/4 turn counterclockwise and that should do it. Put the black plastic cover back on and you now have a buzz-free instrument. I can’t believe nobody pointed this out previously!

I love it
I got this thing for Christmas and I love it. It came packaged well and arrived in great shape. Setup was not great, but I got to learn how to adjust everything. Pickups will give you deep chugs or nice bright cleans. Push pull split coils is very real. It’s great for cutting down the thick fat humbucker for more shrilly high gain or for a pleasant stratish clean.

A Pleasure In The Hands
Having never seen a Schecter guitar before, I was more than surprised with the quality of this one. The neck is second to none that I've played, and that includes an original 1963 Fender Stratocaster I bought that same year.I have medium sized hands and sometimes a guitar neck can be hard to play if it is too small and not well built. This is not the case the the Schecter.Aside from easy on the old fingers, easy to play, this is a great looking guitar as well. It has the smooth lines, rises and falls on the body that make it easy on the eyes.Of course I'd rather have a higher priced instrument. But for the playing I now do I don't need anything but this.Consider this as well - I'm not a young man (surprise!). After years of not playing I bought a Fender Dreadnought, a nice guitar, but one that almost ruined me. Having to lay my arm over the body of the guitar caused my shoulder to pitch forward just a little. That position began to cause my right shoulder to come out of joint. Fortunately, a little physical rehab and it is OK now.I can no longer play big guitars. With this solid body that problem is solved. The only thing that took me a while to get used to is the pick-ups being so close together. That too is just a matter of repositioning my right hand.I can think of nothing I dislike about this guitar. And the price for an instrument such as this is incredibly low.

awesome guitar
just got this guitar and i am in love with it. love amazons shipping its reall fast got it 3 days before it was due. love the color it looks way better than how the picture shows it. i got mine with daddario strings but put ernie ball powerslinkys on it. you can really make some sweet metal sounds with this guitar trust me if your on a budget and need a good guitar here you go. the only downside i have about the guitar is when im trying to gallop. the bridge on my other guitar was different and had a fixed tremelo on it kind of like a strat. so its gonna take some time getting used to that but other than that its a great guitar. if your an a7x fan you'll love the guitar. i mite change out the pickups for seymour duncan blackouts when i figure out how to do it. but yes i would recommend this guitar to anyone who wants to play good.

Love it so much
Absolutely in love with my first Schecter. Been wanting one for years and almost got the C-6 model but held off until I could get the Omen Extreme-6 and I’m so glad I do. The jumbo frets and fast action are awesome, and just a really solid electric guitar all around. Way more versatile than some reviews made me believe. I have tried out all kinds of music on it already and they all sound great. Tremendous value with the Omen Extreme-6, could easily sell for nearly double. Came ready to play out of the box with Ernie Ball strings - my Black Cherry quilted top is gorgeous.
