Best speed cube for cubers
My son is an active Cuber with lots of cubes. He says this one is by far the best, which was a surprise to him, as he has many of his own and has also tried out many of his friends' who are also competitive at regional competitions. From my perspective, it arrived well packaged in a nice box, but my son was mostly thrilled because it shaved a few seconds off his average times. Something about "best at cutting corners" (I think that's the way he phrased it) and a perfectly smooth action that lines up just right with each flick of his fingers. Bottom line, if your son or daughter is focused on having a really smooth, well constructed cube that feels great to the touch and stays looking fairly new after thousands of quick solves & timed drops, this one (which my son says was named after some world champion guy) is a really really good one. What else can I say? It's a Rubiks cube. Have fun!

Okay, but not for me...
I'm a 16yo speedcuber who wanted a new 2x2 to go learn CLL (which solves the last layer in one alg). The unfortunate problem is that it has bad corner cutting and seems very locky. Even after tensioning and lubing the cube parts, it still is just... okay. I might switch to the MGC.

Its a great 2x2 speed cube.
This 2x2 cube feels really good. It felt a little loose at first, but I got used to it (to the point were it was weird going back to one of my other cubes). If you plain on speed cubing, this one should do just fine. It is a nice size and is fun to finger trick on, my best time it just over 10 seconds I've only dropped it once, on concrete, and it didn't even pick up a scratch. The only slight problem I have is that I've had this product for just over a week or so, and I've already completely rubbed off the logo. It's not a big deal, but I feel I should mention that. Also if you only want to try a 2x2 because its easy, you may be surprised. It will only take a day or two to learn, but it still does take learning.

Better than the Rubik’s 2x2, but still clunky
I own a lot of speed cubes. Mostly 3x3s. This is my 3rd 2x2 “speed” cube. I gave away the first 2 to my son’s friends who wanted to learn how to solve a 2x2. Figured I’d just replace them with a 2x2 cyclone boy..unfortunately those were better than this one.The rotation is rough. The feel of the face is cheap. The joints are too tight even after 2-3 dozen solves. The brand has a good reputation. My 3x3 cyclone boys works great which is why I just figured the 2x2 would be good as well. Too bad this 2x2 just feels like a low grade speed cube that’s poorly made. It’s barely better than the Rubik’s 2x2 which is horrendous.

Great Cube!
My son is OBSESSED with speed cubing. I'm not really sure why, but hey, kids these days, you know? I didn't even realize that speed cubing was different from regular Rubik's Cubes until we ordered this 2x2 for him (he's 8, it's a starter). WOW. This thing turns so easily compared to a regular Rubiks. It's very smooth, so my son has no trouble turning it to solve it quickly.I really like that the tiles are smooth. Most newer cubes aren't stickers anymore, but the tiles are still raised. This one has slick, normal tiles that are wide and easy for my son to hold. It really is a great starter cube for kiddos who are just beginning to get into speed cubes but maybe aren't ready for a regular sized one.Oh! And for the record, this cube withstands some serious pain. It got thrown against a wall... twice. It's still in one piece. Don't judge us.

Great starter cube!
Great starter cube for a beginner. Love that the colors are made of plastic vs stickers that can peel off. Our original cube was defective as the plastic pieces started coming apart, but our replacement works perfectly. Totally recommend.
