Maybelline Express Brow 2-In-1 Pencil and Powder Eyebrow Makeup, Soft Brown, 1 Count

I have one each in Blonde, Medium Brown, and Deep Brown. On one end is a tapered foam powder applicator which lays down powder in a not very thin line. The powder goes on smoothly and fills in a lot of space quickly. The other end is a pencil that is not sharpenable -- you turn the applicator to move it forward. I use the pencil after laying down the powder (which is opposite of what the instructions say), since the pencil tip is small and great for filling in lighter spots and for shaping around the edges. I find that using the pencil first takes more time.I use these not just as eyebrow pencils but also as eyeliners, both right over the top lashes and right under the lower lashes. They are the best eyeliners I've ever used, especially the powder end, which goes on super smoothly. Both the Blonde and the Deep Brown are great brown colors -- neither have that reddish cast that so many brown eyeliners have. The Medium Brown is a little reddish when I apply it to my brow, so I don't use it there. However, around my eyes the red cast of the Medium Brown is neutralized for some magical reason and it makes a good medium brown eyeliner.With both the Blonde and the Medium Brown the pencil end doesn't go on the eyelid tissue easily -- there has to be some tugging to get the color on. However, the pencil end of the Deep Brown goes on very smoothly. Again, I use the powder end of the Deep Brown first (which as an eyeshadow is not that dark), then go over the outside corners with the pencil end for more depth. I use the Deep Brown more for evening wear, and the other two colors for daytime.I'm a 67 year old woman who doesn't like to spend a lot of time doing makeup, and for a long time I looked for a good basic brown eyeliner that doesn't cost over $10 (I'm not willing to spend more). All those I tried had issues of one sort or another -- one being too much red in the color, and another being that my older skin is easily irritated, so that I'd have red itchy eyes from various products. I've had no reaction when using these eyebrow duos, so for me they are hypo-allergenic. Also, the price is so reasonable, as these pencils last a good long while. Maybelline, please don't stop making these; they are my absolute favorite makeup product ever

This makes a very natural looking eyebrow. I’ve used skinny pencils that make hairlike strokes (tedious), paint on gel applications, and anything else I could find to create natural looking eyebrows where mine had thinned and faded. This pencil/crayon works perfectly and stays on all day. I use the light blonde as my hair is white/grey. I recommend!

This Express Brow 2-In-1 Pencil and Eyebrow pencil is a nice to have for your makeup bag. It does the job for a very reasonable price. The color was a match for me and it is super convenient to use.

First- when the package says 2 in 1 on this item it is referring to a single pencil with 2 ends - one end has the pencil and the other has a retractable sponge with powder. Looks like quite a few buyers didn’t understand this.I have been using this for years. They don’t offer this in stores anymore so I buy it on Amazon. I have dark brown hair and the deep brown is perfect. I mainly use the powder side and then use a brow brush to blend with my actual brows. It highlights my eyes without liner. Looks natural. Good product and delivered quickly.

Very thin, hard pencil, is not working for me

Two things:1) I am extremely fair.2) I am 38 but still have the makeup skills of a 10 year old.These 2 factors combined have made it very difficult for me to look I have a decent set of eyebrows. I decided I needed to do something about this when a 5 year old asked me, "What happened to your eyebrows?" I was confused and then she said, "You don't have any eyebrows." THAT'S how pale I am, and yes, a 5 year old made me insecure enough to alter my makeup routine.The first pencil I bought was labeled "blonde" but was too dark for me and had a traditional, harsh pencil tip. No matter what I did, it just didn't look natural. THIS one is different, it has a narrow triangle shape to it that really helps fill in spots with natural-looking "hairs." It is easily blended with a "spoolie" type brush that I happened to have on hand, but a child's toothbrush could do the job too. The color is truly LIGHT blonde and doesn't look out of place on me, but I also go easy on the application. The color seems buildable if you wanted something a little darker. I haven't tried my luck with the end that has the powder on it, so I can't speak to that. Bottom line: the price, color, blendability and fool-proof application make this pencil a winner in my book. I will absolutely buy it again and I absolutely can't wait to impress that 5 year old who will most definitely find another way to hurt my feelings.

I've used this product for yrs & yrs & yrs. I've also tried many others along the way. I've tried everything from Wet & Wild (greatly underestimated in sum areas) to Benefit to Dior. I always come back to this one. Recently the pencil shape changed but, it only made it easier to use & harder to break. I've found that the applicator end of the pencil usually breaks before I run out of powder in the cap so I have 3 or 4 random pencil caps I still use even though the pencil itself is long gone because it's just a really good brow powder. The design is awesome too. I spend more time on my eyes than any other step when applying my make up, with most of the time going to my brows but, this pencil does a dynamic job even when I'm really in a serious rush & crunching time everywhere. I felt I got a very good deal & will definitely buy again as long as the price doesn't spike insanely like with some other products. Great Value. Great Quality. Easy to apply. No mess & hassle free. I couldn't ask for more in an eyebrow pencil if I designed it myself!
