Great pedal for an amazing price!
Overall this is a very nice pedal. The bass amp sound is great, and the tuner works really well. I compared it to my snark tuner and it matched perfectly. This is one of the best values going to bass pedals. The chorus sounds great and the compressor works as intended. It is a very compact pedal that fits in the front flap zipper pocket of my gator transit gig bag. No more amps on gigs for me!

Best value for bass preamp with effects
I play a steady church gig and other freelance gigs in the corporate/private market as well as some studio work. I’ve been auditioning my bass collection (P, MM, EUB, U-bass, upright, and cello) through this unit and it sounds really great! The preamp eq section (my favorite on this pedal) is really warm and musical. The compressor is useable if you watch the strength of your input signal. The octaver effect is pretty meaty for an old school vibe with typical tracking results of an analog design. The chorus and envelope follower are pretty limited but functional. The tuner also works ok, but might leave you wanting for more precision or flexibility.I’m really pleased with this pedal’s ability to improve the overall tone of my instruments. I am a meat and potatoes type of player on most gigs. I want the instrument to sound full and clear through the amp or in ear monitors. The Valeton allows me to quickly dial up a great tone, mute while I tune, and throw in some decent effected sounds when needed, and it fits in my gig bag with tons of room to spare.I currently own a Line 6 helix stomp and various pedals. I have also owned the Aguilar tonehammer, Tech 21, EBS preamps as well. They are all great in their own way, but if you are looking for a highly functional gigging in the trenches multi effect unit on a budget then the Dapper is a hell of a deal!I might buy another for backup!

Solid Build, Good Preamp, Limited Options
I am happy with this pedal. It is solidly built, and the preamp sounds good, especially for a pedal at this price point. The only drawback is that you cannot adjust any parameters of the chorus or the compression, only the amount.

Great value for what it is.
For cost and what it does very close to a Sansamp... not quite... but close and nice and compact easy to use. Awesome for beginners and advanced alike.

Good and simple.....!!!
This product is very compact and easy to use. Once you have found the sound you like for each effect, it is a set and forget piece of equipment. We all have to remember, when you are hired as a bass player, 95% of the time, you probably are not going to use any effect at all, but it’s nice to have a few in your arsenal to spice your sound a little bit.The compressor works nice and I like that you can get that squished bass sound from pop music when there’s a slap part on pop music. Plus, the boost part of it does exactly what it is. The DirtyQ effect to me it is unusable. It sounds like a keyboard patch for very rare solo parts with sharp attack. The switch to add fuzz, makes it sound even worse. I found a setting almost all the off, which could be used. I would suggest a separate envelope filter pedal for this. The amp section is nice and a great sound can get achieved even with a little overdrive to it.The octave effect is very good and tracks well. The chorus is also good as you can dial a good sound for those times where you need to play “Don’t stop believing”.All in all, I would use for any gig as it covers a a wide range of possible sounds. It feels well made and solid.

Versatile Pedal/DI Box on a Budget
Very impressed by the Dapper Bass! I was initially looking for a bass driver pedal that had an XLR out in case I couldn't bring my bass amp to a show. After some shopping around and talking to other bassists, the idea of a fly rig sounded very appealing, but most fly rigs were way outside my budget.I was initially skeptical of this because I had never heard of the Valeton brand, but I decided to take the plunge after reading some positive reviews and it did not disappoint. The stars of the show are definitely the Bass Amp, Comp/Boost, and Chorus sections. The amp simulator sounds great and can get quite dirty with the gain past noon/1 o'clock (a tad low on volume if the gain isn't turned up to at least 9 o'clock though). The compressor/boost circuit works fine and really helps beef up the amp simulator's volume and clarity. It gets a little clicky if the comp is turned up too high, so I recommend keeping it at or below noon. The chorus sounds great and adds a lot of depth and lushness to your bass signal, but a rate knob would be nice. The Dirty Q is a nice touch (very reminiscent of the EHX Bass-Balls pedal) and can be fun to use, but I haven't had the opportunity to mess with it outside of my practice space or some funky solos. The octave section may be my only real gripe. I wish that it had one octave down and one octave up instead of two octaves down. It gets very glitchy on anything below a low C, so keep that in mind. On high notes, it does have a nice synth-y tone though.Overall, I'd have to recommend this pedal. Very fun and useful, and it's the best fly rig I've seen at this price point.

Nice Effects Simple Design
Quality multi effects pedal, especially for the price. The design is simple; a pleasure to use. The chorus, octave, and envelope filter are all very nice. The Bass Preamp section is also useful. You can spend more for similar effectgs; I definitely recommend this one compared to many I've used over the years.
