Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 - PlayStation 4

I've played some entries in a few fighting game series over my lifetime (Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, King of Fighters, etc.), but I've never invested a ton of time while trying to master any of them. Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 is one of the best and deepest fighting games that I've ever played and I'm starting to think about a new investment. It looks beautiful, plays incredibly smoothly, and no two characters play alike.The moment you think you've selected your main, you'll end up playing with another character or get destroyed by someone else using a different character and after a little practice you'll fall in love all over again. The game has an excellent tutorial that gives noobs like me a good introduction to the game's systems. Though it's clear, even after several weeks, I know I'm just skimming the surface of this game's depth and find myself utilizing only a fraction of its available systems.The one drawback I'd give this game is that it's popularity predominantly lies in Japan; Tokyo especially. With that being the case, you'll need to join some English speaking player groups to set up some routine matches, or jump into one of the Tokyo lobbies and go for what you know. There is a clear separation between those who are new and the masters that have been playing this game for a while.Still, if you're looking to try something new in the fighting game scene, but feel a little hesitant about jumping into something other than you're used to (Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat for example) feel free to jump in and experience this title. You're not the only one still trying to learn the ropes!

As someone who enjoyed Guilty Gear in the past but missed out on the Xrd games, this is the perfect way to jump back into the series. It's so much fun to just sit back and play without having to worry about unlocking stuff, or griping about characters stuck behind a paywall. Not only does REV 2 take care of all that for you, it also brings back Baiken from previous games and introduces an all-new character, Answer. The game itself looks absolutely beautiful. You can see all the hard work they put into every character and cut scene, which is something I would never say about SFV. On top of that REV 2 sports the best tutorial mode in fighting games and utilizes simple, clean inputs that allow you to focus primary on your strategy. You really couldn't ask for a better game at $40. Also props to these guys having some fun with the Dualshock speaker. Wish more PS4 games would do that.

This game is sooo underrated in the USA in terms of advertising. However, IT IS A MUST HAVE!!! If you LOVE Japanese 2D fighting games and anime style, this is IT! The Animation is high quality as if you're watching an anime series. The game's mechanics are fast, flashy and awe-inspiring. This game is beautifully made and it is the latest guilty gear series up to date. BONUS PLUS, is the awesome rock music that gets you so PUMPED UP! Even if you are not good at fighting games, you can still appreciate everything I've just mentioned. This game has many modes to choose from and loads of content to unlock. I LOVE IT!!!

First time playing Guilty Gear. on a side note i have bought Arksys game before like blazblue etc.I must say this game is very entertaining, also its a great fighting game that can speak out to newplayers like me. This game has an awesome tutorial that teaches you how you can learn how tofight every step of the way. also brings alot of content and modes like arcade/offline and players vs player.story mode is rich. i recommend this game to anyone that like fighting games.this is new addition for me. I always heard of this game but never had the chanceto give it a try and now that i have it its worth it.

Man what an awesome gameThis fighting game is honestly one of the best in the business for me, on par with Skullgirls and Jojo Heritage for the FutureFrom the very intro you already get a college level dissertations worth of information of how much style and badassery this game isIf your new to fighting games, the tutorial in this one is actually on the best because it really reinforces the most basic mechanics that are generally seen in fighting games, like movement, blocking, recovery and movesNow onto the meta of the game, we have the Story that's very good and will make you involved with it because if you start falling behind on the terminology and such you'll most probably gonna get lost (good thing that there's an encyclopedia in-game)Then we have versus mode where you can fight your buddy or willing opponents(offline and online), Arcade that recounts what every character experienced before the main Story, M.O.M., a mode where you gain medals and kit out tour character of choice with stat-boosters, items, armor and the likeAnd then we have the shop (that's named Collection) where you can buy with World dollars skins, character arts, lose/win quotes and music from the older Guilty Gear gamesThere's alot still that I haven't said about like how the gameplay is very intuitive and easy to get into, how the presentation is just gorgeous, how every single piece of music is a straight 9/10 or moreJust buy this game man, you won't regret it I guarantee it

Best fighting game period! Street fighter, Blazblue, Mk, and all them other fighting games have nothing on this. GG has everything you want in a fighting game, and more! The art and design of the characters and stages is just beautiful! I wouldn't mind paying full price of $60 for this game, just so I can support Arksy's and what they are doing with this game. Keep in mind that if you get the physical copy, it gives you Baiken and Answer, plus all past DLC characters from Rev1 if you haven't got them already. Just upgrading from Rev1 will only get you Baiken and Answer. You may not care for the other dlc characters but its good to have them in case you may want to use them in training mode.
