Helps to auto latch the gate, just push it closed, nice solid unit, I didnt bother using the handle that allows you to open it from the outside, but that was solid as well, overall a very good well built product

Used this for Western kiln dried cedar exterior patio gate . Stained material is subject to weather expansion & contaction particularly in 2032 storms/drought, installation must be precise. Requires appreciable carpentry experience, instruction card should be full page printed literature in a better dimension detail. Am retired 82 with 50 yrs. experience.

The media could not be loaded. I had such an ugly and stupid latch on my gate that came with the house when it was newly built. You had to use two hands to unlatch it, no handle to grab, just utterly useless. This simple hardware showed up and 45 min later it was installed and now it looks better, functions better and with only one hand and locks!

It was a bit complicated to install but we figure it out. It works great!

Missing screws. Not acceptable. Other than that, looks good.

This is a sturdy gate latch. Paid top dollar for it. The package was cut open and then taped back together. There was a Kohl's label on the back. I expected an unopend product for the price.

This gate latch was perfect for a recent client who wanted easy access to open and close their gate but wanted to upgrade from those standard cheap latches. I installed this on a 4' gate that I built for them and it gave their gate some eye appeal with the front handle and face plate looking so nice. I have used many Sankins products and I do find them to be good quality at a better price point than those big box stores. If you need gate latches or hinges go with Sankins.
