If you follow the instructions for the hot plate it tells you there will be some burn off, and to use in a well ventilated space. Follow those instructions! It stinks at first and there will be a little bit of smoke but once you let it burn for 20 minutes you'll be fine.Me and my best friend bought candle kits just for something fun to do one day. This kit comes with everything you will need to get started. It's a pretty cool set. The only thing I do not like about it how much scent you have to use. The directions say to use the WHOLE bottle for one bag of wax. And you really need to if you want to be able to smell it. I used one of the floral scents first and I honestly can still barely smell it. Maybe buy some better fragrances for your kit.But, I am now hooked and want to make more!

Everything came with the set and it is very nice but the oil fragrances it came with were not closed before being sent out so they leaked all over their little boxes and now the bottles are nearly empty.
