Q: How do you get the remote control to work? I took the plastic tab off of the battery. The default setting is very obnoxious flashing.

1. Please remove the plastic tab to active the battery and point the remote in the direction of the signal receiver(USB plug). 2. Since these are IR (infrared) they are susceptible to interference. Things like microwaves and cable boxes can cause issues. Check the path between the receiver and the remote and clear any obstructions. 3. The default is a combination mode of all the modes. Press 2 for twinkle mode, 8 for steady on mode or press the button on the USB plug to change mode. 4. If there's any problem, please contact us. Go to Your Orders - Select Problem with order - Chosee your topic and Select Contact seller.

Q: Can this be used outdoors in the rain?

According to the instructions it can be used outside. I have purchased mine with the intent to use inside. The way the hand I am afraid the wind would be the problem. I hope this helps.

Q: Can i plug the usb into an outlet adapter?

Yes, you can plug the USB into the outlet with a USB adapter. The USB adapter should be 5V and its output amperage should be 1A or greater. Please use qualified USB adapters like ones with UL certified. USB adapters of poor quality may output less amperage than what it states and cause damage to the lights.
