GOOD TO WATCH TV DVDS IF BOB ROSS PAINTING
THOUGHT IT WAS GREAT VALUE COMPARED TO BUYING THINGS SEPERATELY. BOB ROSS PAINTS ARE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN SOME OTHERS BUT HAVE A UNIQUE QUALITY TO THEM IN AS MUCH AS THEY CAN BE THINNED RELATIVELY EASILY, AND ARE EXCELLENT FOR HIS FAMOUS BOB ROSS WET ON WET TECHNIQUES! BE PREPARED TO PRACTICE AND GET ADDICTED!!

Great starter set.
I bought this set for my brother who wanted to try painting for the first time. He is a fan of Bob and his methods so I found this set so he could've try it for himself. He loves it and says that it's a great starter set for the 'wet on wet' method that Bob used. He is having great fun painting with help from this set and Bob Ross videos on YouTube.

Paint along with Bob
The basic kit gives you base coat, six colours (that actually last quite a long time), a medium palette knife and a general purpose one-inch brush with which you can attempt the enclosed picture of a Bob Ross painting or experiment along with the TV programmes (usualy on one of the Discovery channels). There are more than 40 series of these shows so you have lots of scope. The set is OK on its own but you really do need to buy the orourless thinner and bucket and a brush beater. You will soon find you want to add brusyhes as on is not really enough and it's good to experiment with the different styles available using different applicators. It's a good basic set but I'd advise you to swave your pennies and get the master set if you can possibly afford it. I'd also advise you to buy a piece of acrylic to use as a palette and mixing plate if you can't afoford £25 for a Bob Ross signature palette - it's a large item but you'll find you really do need all that room to mix colours..

Expensive & incomplete
This would be a good introduction to the Bob Ross technique if extra items such as odorless thinners and a large brush had been included. A video would have been helpful too.

Great set for a beginner
Pleased with this set as I was a total beginner using the Bob Ross method of using oils, the set had everything I needed apart from the thinners which you can easily get. Loved using this method along with his videos, the booklet with it was easy to follow.

the paints look good but I haven't tried them yet
One of the clips was broken on the box. If the other one breaks it will not close any more so were do I keep the paints brush etc.?????!!!!
