I have been using this system for six years and it has proved invaluable when preparing accounts for the inevitable end of year tax return.It ensures that all your expenditure is accounted for and if done on a week to week basis can prevent fraud by employees as you know exactly how much cash you should have at the end of the week.The bank section ensures that your reconciliations are accurate and helps to spot any discrepancies.The system may not be suitable for businesses that deal with a high volume of vatable sales or receipts , but I believe there is another version for VAT.Formal accounting qualifications are not needed as the notes and summaries are very helpful. Any small business owner with a basic understanding of finance should be able to prepare their years' accounts easily, saving on accounacy fees.It only takes me about 45 mins per week to complete each page, much quicker than using some of the computer accounts packages available on the market.
