Positively life changing
I'd give this 10 stars if I could. I've just finished the full ten days, having lost 2kg and friends commenting on how my skin is glowing. My mood has been balanced after a period of real stress and anxiety and I just feel really clear headed. Yes, it does require work and planning, and if you're not used to cooking or meal prepping, I can imagine it would feel hard. It definitely required a bit more figuring out than I expected as I broke it down and shopped in 3 goes rather than buying all the ingredients at once and there was plenty of flipping back and forth on pages during the evening meal prep trying to work out what to do when. The ingredients are an investment too BUT on the cost and the time, I'd just say it's not meant to be 'convenient' or 'cheap' - it's meant to be nourishing and show you a new way to eat.Personally I enjoyed the whole process (useful to plan it for 10 days when you're not going out much of course), there was not one recipe I didn't enjoy and want to make again, and the change I feel is enough to make me want to start the whole thing all over again. Highly recommended.

The most sensible, helpful and successful nutritional advice with recipes, I lost a stone in 10 days
First of all, Amelia was one of the initial highly educated nutritionists who really made sense to me. She is thoroughly qualified and has trained for years in order to pass on the benefits of her wisdom. She always quotes the evidence base for her methods, peer reviewed articles and the result is that this book is the complete amalgamation of everything we need to know. It isn't faddy, it is a 10 day blueprint to get a proper re-set of your body and mind but more importantly for me, it brings into sharp focus how tortured we have become about our food choices and how actually keeping it simple, and eating more rather than less, (of the good stuff!) fulfils your body's requirements to function properly (AND LOSE WEIGHT) but also your mind. The recipes are delicious and I could give her a HUG for including a shopping list at the beginning. There's also lots I didn't know, e.g. about amino and animal protein. It is written in a very accessible way, not patronising but also not at all complicated. It is just really kind to you. I'm the woman who burns salads and kills people when I cook for them, so this book has helped me enormously with my cooking confidence as well as my organisation...I BOUGHT TUPPERWARE. I LOVE IT. WHY DIDN'T ANYBODY TELL ME ABOUT TUPPERWARE?? I lost a stone in the 10 days, and am completely delighted. My skin is so good now I have actually stopped wearing moisturiser (except eye cream) and I sleep better and have much better ideas and fewer tears. Basically, this book explains what we need to properly nourish our bodies and minds, and then shows us how to achieve that. I'm mortified by the amount of junk I was putting into my poor bod. No wonder it had shut down. Think I went for days without giving it complete proteins, good fats, minerals and vitamins. NO MORE! Buy this book, READ AMELIA'S WISDOM, then follow the recipes and you will be giving yourself the best Christmas present.

Rethink your diet
Just finished following the 10-Day Plan, and yeah, my attitude to food has changed a lot! I've discovered I like foods I'd never even think of eating before, and I've felt the benefits of preparing each meal from scratch, and lost weight (4lbs in 10 days) whilst following it. I even discovered what I was allergic to, thanks to the plan completely avoiding gluten, sugar and wheat - (it was eggs all along!)However, this requires you spend a lot of time in the kitchen. An awful lot. Probably don't try embarking on this without a dishwasher. Also, the shopping list for the ten day plan isn't as handy as you may think it is, as a lot of the produce will expire before the 10 days are over (and if you're using frozen fish, there's no reminder to take it out of the freezer the day before). The food pyramid is invaluable, and although I'm still going to have my cheat days, it's something I'll be using for a long time yet. If you're interested in making a change to how you think about food, check it out.

Best book to kick- start a lifetime of healthy eating
This book is brilliant. I have Amelia's other books, but I find that this one is the best for anyone who wants to make a step towards better health and nutrition. In the first 3 chapters she talks about what to eat, but also the emotional attachment we all have to food. She gives information on how to deal with cravings, overeating and the myth of willpower. But if you are in a hurry you can just skip to Chapter 4. Chapter 4 gives you a 10 day plan of what to eat whether you are an omnivore or a vegan. The recipes are really easy to make and the ingredients can be found in any major supermarket. She also includes a shopping list. You can decide to do the whole 10 day plan, or just change your habits one meal at a time. As someone who has a lot of cookbooks and books on healthy eating and fitness, this has become my absolute favourite. I liked it so much that I have also purchased it for my ipad, so I can take it on holidayswith me.I cook for a family of 4 which includes a vegetarian, a 10 year old and a husband who likes carbs. Everybody has loved the recipes ( well, I do have to leave the beetroot out of the houmous for the 10 year old), and although I have not done the 10 day plan in one go, I have tried most of the recipes. The grilled fish with orange & avocado salsa is amazing( even though I was sceptical about the salsa initially), wild salmon parcels - yum! Aubergine & chickpea curry - delicious, any recipe I have tried has been a success .... I highly recommend this book.
