I decided to try these after suffering with a persistent case of cystitis that I’d had for over two weeks, however on two separate doctor visits I was found to have “no infection” so I was not prescribed any antibiotics. I had recently been on antibiotics in the last two months for the same issue, which did work, but this time I was left to suffer (if you’ve had cystitis, you know the pain)! I was really frustrated and each day my symptoms were still there, causing me huge discomfort and really affecting my life. I decided to do some research and found that ~60% of urine dip-tests come back negative, even when there is infection, which I definitely though was the case with myself. I found a blog post about D-mannose and how it was a life-saver, so thought it couldn’t hurt to try it. I’ve been taking it 3x a day for 3 days so far, and my symptoms have ENTIRELY disappeared, I’m amazed! I’m lowering my dosage to 2x a day now since I’m completely better and then plan to take it 1x a day for prevention after that. This stuff is amazing! A little pricey but honestly it’s worth it if you are struggling with cystitis and don’t want to be on antibiotics/can’t get antibiotics. The pills are a bit large, but I find they snap in half easily (I can also take them whole quite easily, so the size really hasn’t been a problem for me at all).

I was recommended to try these by a hospital urologist after suffering from recurrent urinary tract infections for over two years. It had reached the point where it was seriously affecting my quality of life as it was occurring every month and I was becoming resistant to certain antibiotics. Also the antibiotics were causing thrush which is also painful. I have been taking these for almost a year and have not had a uti infection. I usually take one a day but if I feel the signs that I may be developing a water infection I will take two or three per day until I feel better, usually for two days. I was recommended to take two of these before and after any ‘activity’. For me these are a lifesaver and I would definitely recommend giving these a try. It’s a shame GPs don’t seem to know about them as they could prevent unnecessary suffering to those needing them and prevent over use of antibiotics. I have told two of the GPs at my practice I was taking them and they said that they had never heard of them.

I gave this a five star as it really does the job. I was recommended by my doctor. It very friendly and safe to take. I gave it a three star for swallowing as It is a big tablet to swallow. If others find it hard to swallow it does give you the option to break it in half and make it easier to swallow. It does not have any taste which is good. Some tablets leave that awful taste…but this one has no taste which is great…hence why it’s vegan friendly. I noticed on the third day that my UTI pain had been relieved. Do your research before buying this product…but I definitely recommend this product. Part of the research it does say you take it up to six months which is great for us sufferers. It is great value. Now I know what to order if it occurs again.
