Buy once, cry once
Excellent pegs, made of stainless steel so they'll never rust. Strong, with two eye sizes on each peg. This means you can grip big items like thick socks, or thin items like shirts. They're strong enough to hold everything, even in strong winds, without the items flying away or bunching up on the lines. These are quality items, well worth paying a bit more for pegs that will last a lifetime. They are a design classic: simple, functional, sustainable, satisfying, timeless. It's kind of tragic I like them so much ...So good I've now bought about four packs in total. Slowly replacing all other pegs as they go brittle, rust, or leave wood fragments on clothes.Nicely packaged in brown card by the manufacturers, for a zero plastic solution.More expensive than disposable garbage, but well worth supporting the manufacturer who are trying to do the right thing.

Stay put however windy it is !
Brilliant pegs , well made , haven’t rusted over two wet winters , washing stays on the line however windy it is .Maybe an expensive outlay but you should ever need to replace them .

No more broken pegs!
They're pegs. I should not be *this* excited about pegs, but I am! I have broken at least a hundred (plastic supermarket) pegs over the last year and I had had enough. I bought these, they arrived relatively quickly, and honestly? Next payday? I'm ordering more. There are many plus points to these pegs:1) prettier than plastic2) won't go to landfill if they break3) no springs to pop out4) not plastic (there's a theme here)5) won't get sun damage because, you guessed it, they're not plastic6) surprisingly, they don't seem to get hot even in the 'heatwave' the UK is having right now.Downside:1) you might feel very old when you realise how excited you are about a metal peg.I love them, and will be getting more for me and also my dad as he lives in the highlands and goes through pegs like nobody's business.

Now I understand.
For some time now I have been getting sick of the noise CRACK or BOING. This happens frequently with plastic or wooden pegs - they either break, shatter (really cold weather is a bugger to plastic pegs) or the spring disappears into the grass ready to smack you in the eye when you next mow the lawn. I figured there had to be a better way so, just being nosey, searched for metal pegs. I came across these and I bought a set about a year ago - none have broken, there's no spring to go BOING so I've just bought another set.I now understand why nobody stocks them in shops, they'd never sell plastic or wooden ones again - as they're a single piece, there's nothing to break! They're somewhat smaller than 'standard' size pegs but they hold onto the line really well and there's no sliding of clothing because of a loose fit - they stay where you put them. It's worth noting that they can be a touch difficult to open as they are strong steel but they will slide over the fabric on a line. They may seem pricey but I reckon they've easily paid for themselves in this last year as I've not had to buy replacements for broken ones and, don't forget, I still have all 20 - not broken, not bent, not loose, not rusty - they're as good as the day I got them.I wouldn't touch any other type of pegs again!!!October 2015 update: Now had these pegs for 3 years and, apart from a couple that have vanished during a house move, not one of these pegs look, feel or behave any differently than they did on the day I received them - really can't fault them!

last forever
Great product, I think they might really last my lifetime.Only problem is they are quite stiff to use, which can be hard for arthritic hands.

A very tough cookie to beat.
I like these types of pegs. When they are made of wood the wood deteriorates when left outdoors on the line (or in a peg bag). then they become weak and either crumble or split - these stainless steel ones do not. Some up market plastic pegs can easily last two or three years left on the line and do not shatter like the cheaper ones do after 18 months. But sunlight does damage the upmarket plastic pegs - it just takes longer. Then there is the real problem of pegs which spend a lot of their life outdoors in the wet, dry, warmth and cold - they get mould build up inside and should be boiled every year or so to kill off the fungus including grime (lf in built up areas). It is boiling pegs for about 10 minutes in a of water with a touch of detergent in a pan that kills off all plastic pegs -Not these stainless steel ones. They cost around £20 and you can boil them as often as you wish for possibly 25 years. They are impervious to sunlight, weather hot/cold. Even the spring used is stainless steel unlike normal clothes pegs which are rust prone steel with a nickle coating which has a lifespan of 48 months before rust starts. So my advice is: you want shiny pegs which are capable of lasting 25 - 40 years that you can sterilise using neat chemicals or boiling water as often as you wish then they justify their heady price. If you are one of life's peg losers (you forever lose pegs by dropping them on the floor/grass and cant see very well to get them back or perhaps can't be bothered to wash or boil them when they've mud on them . . . Stay with the cheap plastics of the woodies.
