300 plus 2 other great movies!
I found this set while looking for 300 and was happy to get it. 300 is an awesome movie in my opinion and one of director Zach Snyder’s best. Troy and Alexander are great in my opinion, but that could just be because I love history. This set also includes the director’s cut of Troy and the final cut of Alexander which are the best versions of these films. At the time I bought this set, it retailed for around $20 new, but I was able to get it for about $8 by buying it in a used condition. I recommend doing this if you want to save a few bucks and are comfortable taking the risk. Just be sure to research the seller beforehand. Overall, three great movies for a great price. Definitely worth adding to my collection!

A Good Three Movie Deal
I intentionally chose the used version of this movie set because I wanted physical disks at a decent price for my collection. I tested each blue ray disk on a portable Sylvania blue ray player The movies immediately began playing without going into menu...sound was good, video at the movies beginning was sharp & without flaws. Being used I did not expect to get digital codes..none were included. Disks were shiny, no scratches Case was as pictured and looked new. Very pleased

This is what you want!!!
I needed to replace my Troy Extended version because my D.V.D. quit playing. I also noticed my (Directors Cut) of Alexander & D.V.D. version of 300 were both Full Screen! I hate full screen/pan & scan! Oh, when I was a child, I didn't like those skinny movies with the black bars...but I am an Artist. When I realized Full Screen was like looking at a painting of the last super & only seeing Jesus & 3 Apostles on either side...well I wanted to see it ALL! So, I wanted WIDESCREEN, & every movie in this pack is widescreen & plays in the U.S.! Just make sure your player plays both D.V.D. & Blu-Ray in the same tray & you'll be fine. Also, a " Directors Cut" can be a bit deceiving...as the Theatrical release is generally " The Directors Cut". But both Troy & Alexander are the extended versions! In fact, Alexander has so much added footage it had to go on two discs! The sound quality is amazing, as is the visual. So, if you're like me and want to see everything the cinematographer wanted you to see, & the most complete & fullest versions of these films look no farther & get this! Extra fact, when they Pan & Scan a movie to make it " Full Screen" quite often they lose picture quality. And considering movies win awards for their Cinematography, you may want to see why & start purchasing WIDESCREEN. Since I don't believe an extended version of 300 exists, this is as good as it gets. The extra footage & seeing the full scope of the epic battles in Alexander made it like watching the movie for the 1st time! So check your D.V.D.'s & if they're not Widescreen, and if your copy of Alexander isn't the " Alexander Revisited" version you may want to jump on this deal!

improvement over the DVD versions
The packaging of these three loosely-related-genre movies into one 4-disc package makes for an attractive price-per-movie. The video is, as nearly always, superior to the DVD versions. The audio may be as well but I haven't done any A-B comparison (I already owned Troy and had rented the other two in the past). I haven't watched Alexander yet but have read here it is split across two discs so you have to change mid-movie. I personally don't find this to be a big deal - that's what happens when a movie gets really long (remember Lord of the Rings on DVD, I think it was 3 movies discs?). There are other things in my life that are far, far more annoying than having to get up once during a 3 hour-ish movie. As for whether you'll like the content of the movies themselves, that's subjective, go read IMDB.

Three amazing films for different reasons
I'm Greek, and I love Greece and Greek history, so that might make me a little biased, but these films are great. Alexander is a long, dark, drama; 300 is a testosterone fest with beautiful fights and effects; and Troy is a romance-action-adventure hybrid that is just spectacular. The director's cut is also incredibly superior to the theatrical (as with Alexander). So, if you love ancient Greek history, spectacular battles, and enjoyable plots of different types, look no further.
